2015 DMMC Golf Outing
Slight breeze, sunshine, low humidity and moderate temperatures made for ideal weather conditions for the July 15, 2015 DMMC Golf Outing held at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge. A total of 120 attended the outing including an energetic mix of mayors, managers, trustees, and business partners. Spirits remained high throughout the day despite the sizable number of golf balls claimed by water features on this challenging, four-star rated course. Kathleen Belden of BMO Harris Bank and Dave Sloan of the Village of Itasca were recognized for their outstanding drives on the longest drives contests, sponsored by Speer Financial, Inc. and The Horton Group, and Joe Caracci of the Village of Bensenville won the Call One-sponsored putting competition.
In late afternoon, participants settled into the banquet room which overlooks Seven Bridge's verdant landscape and rolling hills. The Mayor of Woodridge, Gina Cunningham, formally welcomed attendees to dinner and thanked them for traveling to the Village of Woodridge for the event. The dinner's main event was the raffling off of 26 magnificent, community-donated baskets that lined the southern end of the dining room. Winning tickets for the baskets and other prizes--including an IPad donated by Comcast and an Apple Watch donated by The Horton Group--were drawn and enthusiastically announced by DMMC President and Mayor of Roselle, Gayle Smolinski.
Thanks to everyone who attended and participated to make the DMMC 2015 Golf Outing a splendid event. Photographs of baskets, participating golfers, and other images captured during the day's events can be viewed on the DMMC Facebook page.

Residents Invited to Provide Input on County Programs, Spending
DuPage County residents have a chance to weigh in on their priorities by participating in this year's County budget survey. The survey is now available online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/dupagebudgetsurvey.
Each year, the DuPage County Board gathers public opinion as it shapes next year's budget.
County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said this year's budget survey is particularly important as the county faces a potential loss of $4.5 million in funding due to the state's budget crisis.
"When the state faces a fiscal crisis, we all feel it in the counties. We will tighten our belts accordingly but our goal remains the same: to provide the highest quality services for our residents in the most efficient, cost-effective manner possible," said Cronin.
Finance Committee Chairman Paul Fichtner said the survey coincides with the regular budget process as officials determine spending levels for Fiscal Year 2016, which begins on December 1, 2015.
"We have always received thoughtful feedback from our residents through our budget surveys," said Fichtner. "We look forward to engaging the public through this process and hearing what our residents believe are the programs and services they value most."

One such initiative includes the publication Raising the Bar: A short guide to landlord incentives and rental property regulation which outlines various municipal strategies including instituting a rental licensing program, creating a rental housing information system and implementing a performance-based regulatory system.
