Greetings  ,

It has been an incredible season so far, we have been busy collecting projects and archive data while the weather has been clear and warm throughout the state.  Give us a call for your project needs, there is still time to schedule collection for this fall or discuss what has already been collected in recent archive.

Be safe!

These RapidEye images of September 2010, August 2011 and July 2012 show the recent dynamics of the 5 mile wide Knik Glacier terminus. In recent decades the glacier has retreated. As a result lakes have opened up which have widened the previously narrow gorge through which the water of Lake George join the Knik River. Through most of the 20th century the Knik Glacier pressed against the mountain slope at its western end. The current Inner Lake George (visible at the southern end of the images) and the Lower and Upper Lake George areas (to the north and south west of Inner Lake George) would fill with water until it would break through the ice barrier in a violent glacier lake outburst flood event.  This would occur nearly every summer until 1966.
