ECL-600 Fire-Rated
Exit Control Lock

The ECL-600 is a fire-rated, code-compliant, rugged, dependable relatching exit device with a steel plate and photoluminescent sign that provides managed security and a 100-decibel alarm for secondary fire exits

Benefits:
  • Attack-resistant design withstands over 2200 pounds of outside pull force
  • Reduces employee and customer theft
  • Easy to install
  • Time-tested construction resists attack from the inside
Features:
  • 1-inch throw deadbolt and 3/4" deadlocking latch bolt
  • Relatches for additional security
  • 100-decibel alarm powered by a 9-volt battery
  • Saw-resistant deadbolt
  • Durable steel plate with photoluminescent sign
  • Locking and unlocking the deadbolt always arms and disarms the alarm
  • Resetting the alarm can only be accomplished with a control key

Outside Lever Trim

Designed specifically to operate with the ECL-600 Fire-Rated Exit Control Lock, the ECL-620 is a heavy-duty lever trim that allows entry from the outside. The keyed cylinder retracts the deadbolt and the lever operates the latch bolt.

Differences between ECL-230D and ECL-600
While the ECL-230D and the ECL-600 are similar in appearance, there are several differences between them. Differences include:
  • The ECL-600 is fire-rated; it is typically used for back doors that lead to a hallway. The ECL-230D is not fire-rated; it is typically used for back doors that open to the outside.
  • The ECL-600 has a longer 24-inch push bar that meets codes for doors requiring panic hardware. The ECL-230D has a shorter 12-inch push bar and should be used on doors that don't require panic hardware.
  • The ECL-600 has one deadbolt plus a relatching bolt and meets fire hardware codes. The ECL-230D has one deadbolt and does not relatch.

Tech Tip

The cover lock is the main way to access the battery on an ECL-230D, ECL-230D-PH or ECL-600. When the battery needs to be changed, insert the key in the cover lock and rotate it until the cover can be removed. For a visual guide, view the battery change video.

Note: To replace the battery or to service the device, the control key must first be used to retract the bolt and disarm the alarm. The cover key can then be used to unlock the cover, enabling the cover to be removed.

When calling for support, you will be asked about a cover lock number. This number is located on the front of the cover lock cylinder.
