Removable Mullions
90KR and H90R

F90KR Mullion

90KR - Keyed Removable Mullion
The Keyed Removable Mullions are heavy-duty removable mullions designed for use with rim exit devices on heavy-duty pairs of doors. The design allows the mullion to be removed. The H90R mullion has been approved for hurricane installations. The 90KR is available fire-rated (F90KR - shown left) and electrified (90KRE).

The unique design of the 90KR's latching head allows the mullion to be removed in seconds with one key turn, and then allows it to be snapped back into place without needing the key.

90R - Removable Mullion
The removal of the top fitting screws on the H90R allows tube and fitting to rotate away from the frame.

  • Mullion can be removed in seconds, either by the turn of a key or removal of screws, and replaced in seconds
  • Easily adapted to any double door application
  • Easy installation
  • Easy retrofit application

  • Designed for heavy duty use
  • Small profile base plate prevents interference when moving objects through doorway
  • Shims provided to ensure accurate fit

*Pricing on Detex mullions vary based on many factors: keyed removable or not, size, fire-rated, electrified, or hurricane-rated. Contact the factory for more information on pricing.

Tech Tip

Strike HookSingle doors are much easier to secure as compared to a pair of doors, which are more vulnerable to burglar attacks. However, pairs of doors with a removable mullion make daily operations of moving large items in or out of a building much easier. When using a mullion on a pair of doors with rim exit devices, leading to the exterior, Detex recommends the use of a mullion strike hook (Detex PN 100091). Strike hooks add stability and security to the opening, and travel on the face of the door, directly behind the latch bolt, interlocking with the strike when the door is closed. When the strike hook and strike are interlocked, prying the door away from the mullion becomes difficult. Consider adding strike hooks to your application for added stability and security.
