Weatherized Logo
The Detex EAX-500 is designed for applications that require an alarmed exit device on secured doors. The alarm, with approximately 100dB, will sound when someone attempts an unauthorized exit. The EAX-500, with its redesigned shape and smaller size make it the choice for quick and easy installations on emergency exit and restricted doors.

Benefits:

  • Patented plastic template allows for foolproof alignment of internal magnetic door contact and accurate installation.
  • Intelligent circuit senses the external magnet location automatically and sets the correct door handing.
  • Extended bypass (now a standard feature) allows alarm to remain bypassed when door is open and automatically rearm upon door closing.
  • Optional Key Stop ensures alarm is always armed when key is removed.
  • Modern graphics on cover to demonstrate key rotation and operation.
  • Low cost, self-contained door alarm with piezo horn that sounds to warn of unauthorized use of a door or gate.
Features:
  • Secure, tamper resistant housing.
  • Quick, easy installation saves time and money.
  • Alarm can only be silenced by proper control key.
  • 100dB piezo alarm.
  • Silent arming feature available.
  • 9VDC battery operated with Low Battery Alert.
  • LED visual and audible arming indicators.
  • Weatherized version available.
  • Comes in two colors: black (specify BK) or gray (standard).

Tech Tip

The EAX-500 is made to be mounted on the left or right side of the

door. The alarm will be handed the first time a magnet is presented to one side of the board.

Note: If the device is handed wrong, turn and hold the key clockwise and short the two pins in the middle of the circuit board. The alarm should chirp 5 times indicating the device is ready to be rehanded.
