Featured Feline:
Whiskas

Add a description
Whiskas came into our care as a stray in early June. He is a very friendly and relaxed boy with a great attitude! Whiskas loves to be playful with people. He just can't get enough attention and is quite the lap cat! As a member of our Silver Paws Club, Whiskas can be brought home for only $25 until July 27. Come on in for a cuddle session with Whiskas today-- you will be glad you did!
Compatible Canine:
Waldo

Where's Waldo? He's right here! Waldo transferred into our care towards the end of June. He is a friendly little guy, but he has two vices: he does not do well with other dogs and cats. (Yes, Waldo would prefer to be your one and only!) His second vice? Well, it could go both ways, really. Basically, his energy level is "all terrier." Waldo will need a family that will give him ample opportunity to exert his excess energy. If that sounds like you, come meet this cute, playful guy today!

With all the kittens to choose from at this time of year, it can be easy to overlook all the wonderful adult cats that are available for adoption.

But for many people, an older cat may be a better choice.

Adult cats' personalities are fully developed, so you know what you're getting when it comes to activity level, sociability and health. Adult cats are independent enough to be left home alone during the day, the perfect choice for busy and active households. Plus, older cats are less rambunctious than kittens, and their mellow personalities might be a better fit for small children and seniors.

Right now, we're shining the spotlight on cats in our Silver Paws Club, which is for animals age seven and older. Now through July 27, Silver Paws Club cats can be brought home for only $25!

We hope this very low price will be attractive to those of you who may be considering adoption. These great older cats truly deserve a family to love them forever.

Silver Paws Special

We're celebrating the wonderful personalities of our Silver Paws Club cats!

From now through July 27, all cats 7+ years old can be brought home for only $25. (Yes, cats only!)

Older cats make amazing companions. They are more relaxed than kittens. They love lap time. They are completely confident with who they are.

Come meet our Silver Paws Club cats and see if one is right for you. (Standard adoption processes apply.)

Help us Stuff the Stuff Truck!

And now for something completely different!

On Saturday, July 26, from noon to 5pm, we're holding a donation drive, but it's NOT for shelter supplies.

We're looking for gently used furniture, clothing, and household items we can re-sell at Stuff Etc. to raise money for vaccines and other medicines, spay/neuter fees, and other necessities!

Stuff Etc.'s box truck will be parked in our lot, and our fantastic, hard-working volunteers will be here to help you unload your vehicle and transfer the items directly into the truck.

Furniture sells REALLY well, so if you have an old-but-still-comfy chair or an odd end table, we'd love to take it off your hands!

So... clean out your closets and cabinets! Shovel off your shelves! Rearrange your rooms! Bring us all the good stuff you don't want, and we will convert it to cash to help us help homeless animals.

Donate at Christopher Banks and CJBanks

Donate to help our animals at Christopher Banks and CJBanks and receive 10% off your purchase, including sale items!

From July 20 to 26, the two Lindale Mall stores will be holding a donation drive. Any donation to our animals will get you 10% off your purchase, and if you donate $2 or more, you'll also receive a FREE Cedar Valley Humane Society sports bottle while supplies last.

Donations MUST be made either at CJBanks or Christopher Banks at the time of purchase.

A HUGE thanks to our friends at Christopher Banks and CJBanks!

Calling All Foursomes!

Volunteer Spotlight: The Fox Family

We're always excited when a family decides to volunteer together!

Dina Fox and her hand and pawdaughters, Carly and Taylor, began volunteering this spring, and it's been great to see how much fun they have with this cooperative effort!

The trio has already donated a significant and meaningful amount of their time to our animals. They are a shining example of how volunteering with us can benefit not only the animals, but also help strengthen the bonds between family members.

Thank you, Dina, Carly, and Taylor, for your commitment to making the lives of our animals better!

Happy Tail: Shadow (now Ms. Rivers) Enjoys Being Spoiled

Shadow (now Ms. Rivers, because she sounds like Joan Rivers) has been a true blessing to my home and is a wonderful roommate/fur baby. I absolutely adore her, her quiet meow and her grumpy face.

She loves to sit in the sunshine on her cat tree, gets chin scratches at every opportunity, and enjoys grazing on the cat grass that's been grown just for her. She's enjoying being completely spoiled.

This 13-year-old girl has found her forever home and has made my life so much brighter. She has the run of the house and is an awesome little fur baby.

Thank you for taking such amazing care of her during her long stay with you. She's been to the vet twice and has a clean bill of health. She gets brushed everyday (gotta keep those long locks looking fabulous), and I'm thrilled that she is here with me!

Thank you for everything that you do and your dedication to those who need it most.

Cheers!

Connie J.

Remember, YOU can
send us your Happy Tail, too!
