Featured Feline: Munch
Munch came to us as a stray in the middle of February. This talkative fellow will definitely get your attention. And once he does, you will be forever trying to win his heart. (The secret? Doing exactly what he wants! Yeah, he's kind of a male diva....) This beautiful boy with his long silvery hair and bright green eyes definitely wants to be the center of your world. No kids, says he. No other cats, says he. No dogs, says he, as he turns up his petite nose. Munch would make a fine companion for someone who lives a quiet life of contemplation... as long as you are contemplating how you can please Munch. |
Compatible Canine: Fern
Fern is a very affectionate girl. She may seem a bit shy at first, but once she warms up to you she can be quite charismatic and fun! Unfortunately, Fern is sometimes a little bossy and irritable when it comes to other dogs, so we recommend that she go to a family where she can be the only animal. She also might need a little patient coaxing when it comes to getting to know men. (She seems to be more comfortable around women.) Fern is a great girl for the right family, so come on in and meet her! |

With every ending comes a fresh beginning.
As I'm sure you've heard, Chuck Tourtillott, our executive director, has moved back to the West coast to be with his family. We appreciate all that Chuck contributed to our organization during his time with us. His reasoned leadership and in-depth experience served our organization well, bringing us to the next level.
And now... a new beginning.
With this change comes an exciting opportunity to continue our forward momentum, to explore innovative ideas, and to create more ways to fulfill our mission. The search for our new executive director has already begun, and we are seeing some excellent candidates.
We'll keep you posted!

Volunteer Spotlight: Avery Wilson
Avery Wilson has been a volunteer since November of last year, when she and her stepmom, Cindy Wilson, began bringing dogs to PetSmart for our monthly adoption events.
Avery is one of our youngest volunteers, but she shows a lot of maturity when it comes to volunteering.
Avery contacts us the week prior to the adoption event to ask which dog she and her stepmom may bring, and we can always count on her to be enthusiastic about all our adoptable dogs! (Avery absolutely LOVES the dogs!) She even comes out in the evenings to socialize the dogs, if she can talk her stepmom or another of her adult volunteer partners into the idea.
Avery is a wonderful ambassador for us in the community. Thank you, Avery, for being reliable and cheerful... and such an avid supporter of our animals! |
Happy Tail: Dude and Chloe (now Jack and Jill) Fit in with Family
We adopted Chloe and Dude... and renamed them Jack and Jill. They are doing fabulously-- fitting right in with our family as you can see! We have an appointment with the vet on Friday to make sure all is well. Thank you all so much!
Sarah M. Remember, YOU can send us your Happy Tail, too!
