Featured Feline:
Lola

Lola
Lola was brought back to us towards the end of April because her owner was moving and couldn't keep her. Lola has big, bright eyes and a teeny little frame! She is very independent and enjoys her alone time, but she'll let you know when she is ready to be scratched and petted. We think she would do best in a home without small children, because she can be very shy at times. Lola is definitely ready to find someone to love her for the rest of her life!

Compatible Canine:
Bunny

Bunny
Bunny came to us in mid-March because her owner had landlord issues. Bunny is a spunky girl with energy to burn! This curious pup is very loving and affectionate, and she'll give you plenty of doggie kisses. She loves to play, but she can be quite rambunctious, so we recommend any kids in the home be at least 10 years old. Bunny would benefit from basic training, but she is food motivated, so we think she will catch on fast. As a member of our Lonely Hearts Club, this sweet girl can be adopted for only $75. Bunny can come out and play, so stop in and meet her!

Greetings!

Chuck and DukeRight now, we have many wonderful cats and dogs looking for lifelong homes, and each one of them has their own personality.

When deciding on a new pet, please think about how the energy level of the animal compares to your own. Do you want an adventurous hiking companion or a homebody? Do you prefer a very playful pal, or one that will curl up and watch TV with you?

Whether you're an avid runner or a Syfy Channel superfan, our friendly, knowledgeable staff is eager to help you select the perfect furry family member.

We hope to see you soon, and we thank all of you for your ongoing support!

We Asked, You Answered!

We asked icon
Is your pet a bed hog? Tell us about it!

@WagsTV: Dachshund. Sleeps sideways.

Mik Bogard: One cat takes up the entire queen bed, while the other sleeps and steps all over my hair!!!

Lisa Blake: Our dog sleeps right next to my legs and growls at me if I roll over.

Leslie Thomas: I used to have a dog that slept on my pillow with her legs on either side of my head!!

Leila Hennessey: My cat pulls my hair to get me move over and has even taken to pulling it to get me to turn over and face him so he can get petted. He's 17 years old and has earned his privilege of getting away with depriving me of a little sleep.

Shawna Kramer: Yep, one dog takes at least half if not more of the bed most of the night, and then an hour or so before it's time to get up the other one joins in on the opposite side of me. I am usually sandwiched between them when the alarm goes off. Gotta love Labs!

Volunteer Spotlight: Julie Jones

Julie Jones has been working hard for our kiddos! Julie has brought hand and pawadoptable dogs to several special events, including PetSmart, a parade, Tour for Life, Peck's Flower and Garden Shop, and Hills Bank. You name it, she's taken dogs there to visit with potential adopters.

But Julie doesn't forget about our felines. She comes in to socialize and visit with them, too. Julie, thanks so much for joining our team of volunteers. You are a joy to work with, and our shelter sweeties are very lucky to have you helping them find their lifelong homes.

Happy Tail: Gary Gets Along Great!

GaryJust wanted to say how thankful I am for the Cedar Valley Humane Society!

I adopted Gary, the Lynx Point Siamese, and he is the sweetest cat. He has such a huge personality! I'm so happy we both have helped him live a better life. He is doing great in his new home and getting along great with the other cats.

Remember, YOU can
send us your Happy Tail, too!
