Featured Feline:
Felix

Felix
Felix came to us as a stray in the middle of October. This sweet boy is very active and has lots of kitten left in him. He will chase after just about everything! One of his favorite games is pouncing on your hand as it moves under a blanket. Felix also loves to eat anything you're eating. (What a mooch!) This fun-loving cat is a member of our exclusive Lonely Hearts Club, so you can adopt him for only $45.

Compatible Canine:
Delila

Delila
Delila was returned to us in mid-January because she was just too much puppy for her new family to handle. She loves to run, so she will need a fenced-in yard and family members to play with her in it! Delila loves to chew, so you might want to purchase stock in rawhides. She would really benefit from obedience training. She loves to please, so we think that she will respond quite well. Delila is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club, so she can be adopted for only $75!

Greetings!

Chuck and StitchHave you reserved your tickets for the fourth annual Whine & Wags Auction yet?

We're very excited that this gala event is almost upon us! This year, the Whine & Wags Auction will feature a variety of silent auction items as well as a LIVE auction, in addition to the hors d'oeuvres and live music.

The success of fundraisers like the Whine & Wags Auction is vital to our organization. We receive no funding from state or local governments, nor do we receive funding from national organizations, such as the Humane Society of the United States.

We are a local non-profit animal welfare organization supported solely by service fees and the generous donations of people just like you.

I hope to see you at the Whine & Wags Auction!

We Asked, You Answered!

We asked icon
What non-food thing always somehow ends up in your pet's mouth?

Alex Turner: Rubber bands.

Tiff Roberts: Underwear...sigh...darn basset hound.

Angie Blackbourn Handeland: Socks. Always my daughter's socks, no one else's.

Heidi Karr: Chapstick!

Ken Rinehart: Plastic bottlecaps.

Nathan Ritz: Kleenex. (Gross, I know.) So we bought a garbage can for the bathroom with a lid and a step to open it... he figured out how to step on the lever to open the can... now we keep it on the counter.

Jaclyn Keefer: Tape!! My cat loves tape!

Natalie Carrier: Hair ties and bobby pins!!

Ashley Rodriguez: My cat loves bread ties and Q-tips!

Jason D. Owen: CRAYONS!! The ONLY upshot to that is the poop pick-up party has a rainbow splash to it (and it's easier to find in the yard). Not a good trade.

Volunteer Spotlight: Cheryl Mayfield

hand and pawCheryl Mayfield is a very loyal, longtime volunteer who helps clean our cat areas at PetSmart once a week... and while she's at the store, she spoils the cats with love! She also helps out with extra cleaning of toys and such, if needed. Cheryl sends a very detailed report about each cat and how they are doing after each of her shifts.

Cheryl, we deeply appreciate your generous gift of time and commitment to the Cedar Valley Humane Society's PetSmart sweeties!

Happy Tail: Noah is One Cool Cat

NoahHello to all my furry friends and the wonderful staff that took such great care of me--Noah! I was the big gold and white tabby cat that was adopted and flew home to Florida! I'm healthy, happy and so, so, so spoiled! I'll write to y'all next Christmas!

Love,

Noah

Remember, YOU can
