Appy Hour

The Spokane Young Professionals Network (YPN) has created an excellent list of mobile applications (apps) that is the bees knees.  We thought it was so good, we had to share it with all of our members.

The list was born from the YPN's recent Appy Hour event.  It covers apps in three categories: real estate centric, business/productivity, and everyday life and entertainment.

You can download your very own copy online here.

Homespotter

The Spokane MLS app is now called Homespotter.

The Homespotter app has all the functionality and agent level details that our Spokane MLS app had, but it includes full Paragon integration and Client Collaboration!

The Homespotter app integrates with your Paragon account to give you access, to Saved Searches, Listings Carts and Contacts in the app. Additionally, if you can input your listing, you can do updates for price, status and more directly from the app.

Client Collaboration lets you send an invite to your client and, when they install the app, they will have an app that is branded to you and allows them to share and comment on listings directly through the app and you will be notified of what they are viewing and saying.

Homespotter is available in the Apple Store and Google Play store.  Click on your device below to download the app now:

Install Homespotter today and get started, then watch this 20-minute video to learn how to work with it and invite your clients to participate:

DOL Trends

NEW!

Washington REALTORS® Legal Hotline attorney Annie Fitzsimmons begins a new video series this week: Department of Licensing Trends.

When the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) receives complaints or audits sale transaction files, it frequently looks for issues pertaining to Earnest Money . . . was the Earnest Money deposited timely by the Buyer? . . . was the Seller notified if that the timely deposit didn't happen? . . . does your Transaction File contain "Proof" or documentation of these details?

Find out what Annie has to say about this in her new seven-minute video online here:

ArtFest

THIS WEEKEND!

ArtFest returns to Spokane's historic Browne's Addition neighborhood this weekend for the 31st time - this time, to help celebrate the centennial of the Eastern Washington State Historical Society at the Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC).

ArtFest is a festival of art, creativity and friendship, featuring free music and much to do for all ages, all weekend.  A walk through the neighborhood - especially with children or grand-children - is a good way to come to an appreciation for some of our city's grandest architecture and pioneer homes.

See the schedule of events online here

Neighbor Day

THIS WEEKEND!

One of the aircraft type that participated in D-Day - June 6, 1944 - will be flying over Spokane this weekend as the featured attraction of the sixth annual Neighbor Day celebration at Felts Field.

About 10,000 copies of the B-25 bomber (pictured above) were built for the war effort, beginning in 1941.  The one flying here this weekend is from the Historic Flight collection, based on Paine Field in Everett, Washington.  It will be open for ground tours and flights.

This year also features the debut of Honor Point, the area's only military and aerospace history museum.  The museum commands 10,000 square feet of space in the new Felts Field Flight Center.  Several vintage aircraft and items from the museum's large collection of local military artifacts will be on display.

Neighbor Day is free and open to the public.  See the schedule of events online here.

Love House

Dan Pelle/The Spokesman-Review photo

The Love House, a quintessential Craftsman bungalow on the South Hill, seems to rise from the earth.

"This house is supposed to look like it is erupting out of the ground," said Linda Yeomans, a historic preservation consultant who wrote a nomination to place the house on the Spokane Register of Historic Places.

Last month, the Spokane City-County Historic Landmarks Commission voted unanimously to recommend the house for the register because of its adherence to the Craftsman ethic. The listing is pending before the City Council.
