Entry Forms Due Monday

THANK YOU!

Thank you to all of our terrific members who opened their houses to the public for our sixth annual Spokane REALTORS Open House Weekend this past Saturday and Sunday!  We had 181 open houses participating via SpokaneOpen.com.

Be sure to turn in your guest contest entry forms to the SAR by close-of-business (4:30 p.m.) on Monday, May 2nd!

Here are the prizes you and one of your guests could win:

1 - GRAND visitor prize - $1,000 VISA gift card
1 - GRAND REALTOR prize - $500 VISA gift card
5 - REALTOR participation prizes - $100 VISA gift card

(All prizes to be drawn and announced on May 4th).

Here's why this event is so important to you and your fellow members of the SAR:

The event began six years ago as a way to promote the work of local REALTORS at the beginning of the peak sales season of the year.  SpokaneOpen.com was created three years ago so that SAR members - who own the Spokane MLS - could maintain ownership of their listings.

Last year, SpokaneOpen.com attracted 7,000 page views during the open house weekend.  This year - with heavy promotion on TV, print and online - we boosted exposure to your listings to more than 21,000 page views - a three-fold increase!

Remember to post all of your opens to SpokaneOpen.com, year-round.  This is our home for your homes every day.

If you'd like to help plan next year's seventh-annual Spokane REALTORS Open House Weekend, please join the SAR Communications/Member Services Committee and bring your good ideas to the table.

RPAC

The REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR candidates across the United States since 1969.

The purpose of RPAC is clear: REALTORS
raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support their interests.

RPAC enables REALTORS
to support candidates that support the issues that are important to their profession.

RPAC is not affiliated with the Republican or the Democratic parties and does not support one candidate over the other because of party affiliation.  Instead, RPAC supports "REALTOR
Party" candidates, those who have indicated or demonstrated that they are interested in pro-REALTOR or pro-business issues.

RPAC helps protect the industry by funding those candidates for elected office who best represent the concerns of REALTORS
 and the REALTOR
 Party.

Mortgage Fraud?

NEW!

Washington REALTORS Legal Hotline lawyer Annie Fitzsimmons reaches into the mailbag again this week to answer another member question:

Seller is agreeing to do a second mortgage on a sale. Buyer has asked the Seller not to record the second for six months to allow the first mortgage company time to sell off the paper on the secondary market. If Seller complies, is Seller participating in Mortgage Fraud?
