Open House Safety
As we head out to open houses for the Spokane REALTORS® Open House Weekend, let's remind each other about REALTOR® safety. Just this week, police in Arizona arrested a man for suspicion of kidnapping and sexual assault of a REALTOR® during an open house a few weeks ago. REALTOR® magazine offers a list of open house safety tips, including this one: When showing the house, always walk behind the prospect. Direct them; don't lead them. Say, for example, "The kitchen is on your left," and gesture for them to go ahead of you.See the complete list, online here.

Open House Weekend
It's springtime in Spokane by many measures. Take keyboxes, for example. We opened more than 20,000 keyboxes last month - a nearly three-fold increase over the cold, short days of Devember 2012 when we opened only about 8,000 keyboxes. People are house shopping again in Spokane as we hold the 2015 Spokane REALTORS® Open House Weekend. Read President Kestell's guest editorial from Sunday's real estate section of The Spokesman-Review, online here.
