New Video Releases
Judge Cesar Torrente observes the Fourth Level, Test One test being ridden and scores it, following with a schooling session to work on getting more push from behind and improving both the trot and canter.  If you are showing Fourth One, this is a must see for insight into improvements that will bring up the score on many movements of the test.

with Cesar Torrente, COL

Part 1:  Fourth Level, Test 1 is ridden while Mr. Torrente scores the test.

Part 2:  Mr. Torrente starts by pointing out that this is a very nice pair with three good gaits, but they need to work on the contact.  He is not through the neck, but it needs to be corrected without using the hands.  They begin the work in the working trot rising, pushing first and then half halting and giving to get him as light as possible in the front. This work improves the trot dramatically.  He reminds her to give the reins, and the horse rewards her with a steadier head and better gait.

Part 3:  They now take this work to the canter, pushing from behind and giving with the reins, looking for quicker hind legs.  Rather than working on collection, they are encouraged to go forward, and his canter also becomes better. Mr. Torrente reviews the ride with her, and gives wonderful advice on how to continue her schooling.

Dr. Ulf Moller works with this green, green horse and skillful rider to build a better partnership with the horse carrying himself better and the rider carrying his hands.  If you are working with a green youngster yourself, this video will provide invaluable information for you to try with your own baby.

Part 1:  Dr. Moller begins this lesson on a four year old just recently under saddle  with an explanation of the proper way to hold the reins and the arm position, asking the rider to control the speed without the reins. He asks him to control the turns with the inside leg, asking for bend and releasing.  They use the circle to slow him down and carry himself more instead of leaning on the bit.

Part 2:  After a change of direction they go to the canter, again, working on not holding the horse yet controlling the speed.  Dr. Moller asks him to feel the mouth with his legs.   As they canter the other way, they maintain the bend when asking for the depart, but get a cross canter.  Watch this skillful rider deal with this patiently until he gets a clean depart.

Part 3:  This horse shows great jump in the canter, and as they return to the trot, Dr. Moller had them go deeper and lower.  The horse is more receptive to stretching down and Dr. Moller speaks to how necessary this is to get swing in the back.  When he strikes off into the wrong lead at the canter, he has him trot and get the horse rounder before asking for the depart again.  They give the horse time to become ready for the transitions.

Part 4:  All this hard work pays off as the rider becomes better and better at carrying his hands.  They ask the horse to stretch into a longer rein.  Dr. Moller offers great tips on riding from behind through the neck with the horse accepting the bit.  In the sitting trot, they ask for the horse to go deeper, and the horse relaxes  and begins to swing his back.
