New Video Releases
Jan Bemelmans works with a very talented GP pair on the details of riding that make your showing successful. They work through accurate shoulder in and how it helps in the half pass, and piaffe, passage, and single tempi changes.

Jan Bemelmans Standing

Part 1:  Jan Bemelmans works with this wonderful pair starting in the collected walk making sure he's in front of the leg. They work the half pass at the walk before cantering on the circle in the shoulder in position.  When going to the half pass, he asks for the shoulder in first to avoid the haunches leading.

Part 2:  Jan works with the rider on shoulder in in the canter, and we have a clear view of the proper angle with a straighter neck.  They then work on the collected canter to collected walk on the circle to a shoulder in on the center line in preparation for the zig zag.

Part 3:  The rider picks up a whip, and they work on the shoulder in on center line and the long wall again while going forward instead of passaging.  Jan encourages her to keep the collection and the neck straight.  For schooling the half pass emphasizes the sideways rather than forward motion. They next work the canter pirouettes.

Part 4:  This talented pair now works on piaffe and passage, keeping everything calm.  The next exercise is trot to collected canter, flying change on the diagonal, and across the opposite diagonal in single changes.

Part 5:  Jan asks for the rider to keep the horse collected and finish the single tempi changes in the same rhythm as the changes.
