December 7, 2013

As we prepared resources for Human Rights Day, we learned that Nelson Mandela had passed into eternal life. It is an honor for all of us to continue his work for justice as he now takes his final rest. Our new prayer celebrates his - and our - long walk.

We celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with a new powerpoint resource that explores its 30 articles with video and music to deepen their meaning. We also look back to the role Eleanor Roosevelt played in human rights and we look forward to hopeful signs regarding violence against women.

As we prepare for Christmas choirs of angels, we rejoice in a discussion resource on "Entertaining Angels," the film biography of Dorothy Day. Please remember to visit EFJ for our two Advent reflection series - both for Sunday and daily use.

And don't forget those justice-minded friends on your gift list! The 2014 Center of Concern "Signs of the Times" wall calendar is now available. Photos of Eleanor Roosevelt and Dorothy Day grace its pages. Go to www.coc.org to get one or more!

Please contact us if we can be of further service. If you are not already a member, please join us now! If you have let your membership lapse, please renew now!
