March 5, 2013

Greetings!

While some of us may avoid excess during Lent, Education for Justice is giving you more!

Actually, the calendar nudges this bonus posting of a few timely resources.

The election of a new pope is on the minds of many subscribers. With the conclave possibly starting prior to our next scheduled posting, we offer "God of Our Hope," a prayer that the Spirit will guide our leaders to select a man for all peoples.

Lent also outpaces our posting schedule, so in the spirit of this upcoming Laetare Sunday, rejoice! We share the latest in our series on "The Tortured Christ in Our Midst," focusing on solidarity.

Lastly, International Women's Day is this Friday, March 8. In case you missed it in our previous posting, we're highlighting here our "Litany for Women of Justice and Peace."

Please contact us if we can be of further service. If you are not already a member please join us now! If you have let your membership lapse please renew now!

God of Our Hope: Prayer for the Papal Election

Prayer

As leaders of our church come together to select a new pope, let us pray that, with the guidance of the Spirit, they choose a man for all peoples.

Lenten Resource: The Tortured Christ in Our Midst

Reflection

Solidarity is a key theme in the readings for Week 4 of Lent. When we understand the methods and effects of torture, we become better advocates for its survivors.
