On June 29, 2014, FBCVA welcomes Jamie Essary as our new Part-time Children's Director.  Jamie has had opportunities to work with children in both the public school setting as well as the church setting.  She has served as a leader in GAs, Preschool Choir, Vacation Bible School and Awana.  From 2006 to 2013, Jamie, her husband, Kyle, and their family served as missionaries to Malaysia through the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. They spent four years as church planters in the city of Melaka. Her main focus was coordinating Women's and Children's events, including Sunday School, VBS, and outreach events.

We are excited to have Jamie join the staff of FBCVA in the area of Children's Ministry.  In ministering to children, she will be impacting entire families.  Also, as Jamie says, "Teaching and training children to love the Lord raises up a generation of Christians that have the potential to make a great impact on the world."
