YWCA Hartford Region's Stand Against Racism

April 26, 2013

Stand Against Racism is a program of YWCA aimed at raising awareness that racism still exists in our communities and that it can no longer be ignored or tolerated.  Stand Against Racism  brings people together across the nation for one common goal - the elimination of racism. Will you take a stand?

YWCA Hartford Region is partnering with the City of Hartford to host its own Stand at City Hall, 550 Main St. Hartford, on April 26 from 12 PM - 1:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and Michele Stewart-Copes will speak at the event.  The event will feature performances from local musicians: Alvin "Abu" Carter, Margaux "Modimo" Hayes, Richard McGhee III, and Dana Sears. In addition, all attendees are invited to sign the Pledge Against Racism.
