Greetings!
Red Rhino
Students from Red Rhino Orphanage Project, Kenya

At Art in Action, we work hard every day to make sure that schools everywhere have access to our vibrant hands-on visual arts curriculum and teacher and parent volunteer training. So we are delighted that Congress designated this week as National Arts in Education Week, reminding us that, "arts education...is a core academic subject and an essential element of a complete and balanced education for all students."

For us, celebrating the spirit of National Arts in Education Week means staying very busy. We are packing and delivering hundreds of boxes of art materials and training nearly 1,000 teachers and parents, here at our headquarters and through webinars, to present our lessons to their students. We are bringing on dozens of new schools while renewing the program in over 100 existing locations.

We are excited to report that the Art in Action Program will be implemented in a number of unique ways at new schools this year. For example, across the Rocketship Charter School network, four schools in California and Wisconsin will be expanding the lessons to integrate multiple hours of art programming with core subjects, each week, all year long!

Rawson Saunders School in Austin, TX is using the program to engage their students with dyslexia since art is a great vehicle to open different pathways to learning and is an approachable way to introduce creative expression, critical thinking, and vocabulary skills.

Questa School in Mountain House, CA has chosen to implement the program in all K-8 grades and took delivery of 59 boxes of art materials to support their school-wide art initiative. Clearly they understand and support the value of arts education.

We are especially thrilled that our successful partnership with the Red Rhino Orphanage Project in Kenya continues to bring joy, confidence, and hope to both the students and their teachers.

Join us as we celebrate National Arts in Education Week. Our mission is to provide these schools, and the many, many others that are in need, with an essential visual arts education for their students, not just this week, but all year long.
