Education has Changed
|
 Schools have changed since Winslow Homer's days, and today's children live in a much more complex world. Visual literacy is basic to a universal language that our kids will need in school and in the workplace. As students learn to observe at a deeper level and analyze subtle messages, they will be better prepared to think about complex issues and analyze multiple viewpoints. The skills stressed by the Common Core standards encourage Critical and Creative Thinking. These are the same skills Art in Action lessons have been emphasizing for 30 years. Art in Action opens children's eyes and minds, engaging them in active learning. Life in mid 19th century New England contrasts with the war-torn South, where Homer also recorded daily life. Welcome New Schools
| |
Joining our Bay Area family of schools: Horrall Elementary, San Mateo: They are bringing the program to all 20 classrooms through partial scholarship from our SanDisk Scholarship Program! St. Ambrose Seabreeze School, Foster City is bringing the program in their Kindergarten classes. Sequoia Preschool, Redwood City is starting kids off on the right foot with our Kindergarten program. Stonehedge Charter School, Hillsborough will use Program Levels 4, 5, and 6 programs to integrate art into their core curriculum areas.
