Dear ISD Parents,
It is with sincere appreciation that we would like to recognize all parents and volunteers who worked throughout the 2015-16 school year to support the ISD PTA. On behalf of the PTA Executive Board, we thank you for your time, effort and donations to support all students, teachers and staff at ISD. We are proud of the curriculum enrichment programs, community celebrations, teacher and student support, technology upgrades, communication and outreach efforts, fundraising initiatives and so much more that were offered this year. Please use this link to view our year-end summary report for a comprehensive list of the impact the PTA had on The International School at Dundee. We realize none of these programs are possible without the dedicated volunteers who amaze us every day with their willingness to lend a hand and work together for our children and their school. To celebrate, the teachers and staff have invited us to a breakfast on Thursday, June 16 at 8:00 am in the café. We hope you will join us. There will be a short PTA meeting following the breakfast to vote on the 2016-17 proposed executive board slate and budget.
The Beach Party Team, under the direction of Kysa Englund and Tabitha Wunderlich, have worked tirelessly to create and organize a fun afternoon at Tod's Point on Sunday, June 5. Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort by contributing to the class baskets and purchasing raffle tickets. We are holding onto hope that the weather forecast changes significantly. We will confirm, via email, before 10 am on Sunday whether the beach party will go on as scheduled.
We wish you a relaxing and safe summer,
Kristin Lisjak and Kaori Higgins
ISD PTA Co-Presidents

FIELD DAY 2016: THURSDAY, JUNE 9
| |
(raindates Friday, June 10 & Thursday, June 16)
Please join us on Thursday, June 9th for Field Day 2016
Red, white and blue ISD Spirit Wear will enliven the day on Field Day 2016! The day promises to be full of fun, physical activity, sportsmanship and good cheer. This year marks a continued emphasis on physical activity, teamwork and sportsmanship. The 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will continue to compete in games as well as our traditional races. Each class will be cheering loudly from the sidelines for their teammates, as well as other grade levels. The enthusiasm, variety and spirit of these sideline cheers will be a strong factor in determining which class earns the coveted Sportsmanship Award, the highest achievement of the day.
The day begins at 9am with an opening ceremony in the front circle to launch the day. Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade will then head off to games followed by races. Everyone is invited to come have lunch, picnic style, in the field starting at 11:30. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will then compete in games and races. The closing ceremony will wrap up the day by 2:45. Hope to see you there!

HELP REVITALIZE THE ISD CHILDREN'S GARDEN!
| |
This year the ISD Green Chair and Committee are working to revitalize the ISD Children's Garden. The garden has the potential to be a learning space for our children, an area where birds and insects can thrive, and a place our school community can gather and create memories while spending time together in the outdoors.
This spring a small group of Afters students weeded, planted, and cared for this emerging space.
We need a few families to volunteer to maintain it over the summer. Our goal is that each week, one or two families sign up to help maintain the garden for one week during the summer--this includes weeding, watering, harvesting and general maintenance of the garden.
New to gardening? Not sure if you want to get dirty?
FEAR NOT!!! Each week a Garden Committee member will be there on your first day and help show you what you need to do. We will provide all the tools that you may need including gloves!
When there are things to harvest during that week your family will be welcome to take those veggies home as a thank you for your efforts!
If you have any questions please contact ISD Green Chair, Angie Hartofilis.
