Dear ISD Parents,
As the end of year is in sight, special events are happening almost on a daily basis. Field Day turned out to be a great event. Thank you to Mr. Boland who orchestrated the day, the students, staff, parents and visitors had a fun, carefree day. It was a wonderful time to come together as a school community and the weather was perfect (the second time around). Many hands needed to come together to ensure the event went as smoothly as it did. Thank you to Mr. Bragdon, Mr. Harris, Mr. Parisi, Mr. Riggs, all the teachers and assistants who helped with judging and the PTA. A very special thank you to Sparky, (you know who you are), who never fails to be a big hit in entertaining the students, in spite of the weight of a heavy costume.
The week ended with our fifth graders traveling to Eastern Middle School to spend part of the afternoon there. This is another step in the transition process that we engage in to ensure, as smooth a transition, as possible, for our students. Moving from elementary school to middle school is one of the biggest changes students experience in their educational experience. The visit gives them an opportunity to be in their new building and begin navigating it. They will also meet and interact with teachers, their guidance counselor and the administrative team.
The ISD roster of teachers for the 15-16 school year is almost complete. As I have already shared, there are some changes that will be taking place. Please note the classroom assignments:
Kdn. - Miss Murphy, Mrs. Freeda, Ms. Shane
Gr. 1 - Mrs. Peters, Ms. Iwai, TBA*
Gr. 2 - Mrs. Macri, Mrs. McAuley, Mrs. Martin
Gr. 3 - Ms. Mansy, Ms. Sangermano, Mrs. Murray (moving from gr. 5)
Gr. 4 - Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Daur, Mrs. Garofalo (moving from gr. 1)
Gr. 5 - Ms. Mink (looping from gr. 4), Mrs. Williams (moving from gr. 4), Mrs. Millspaugh (moving from gr. 3)
I am pleased with this slate and anticipate the changes will add an exciting new dimension to the grade levels experiencing changes. Have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Terry Ricci
*I am in the process of conducting interviews and hope to have a final decision by Friday afternoon.
