Message from our Principal

Dear ISD Parents,

Happy New Year to you all.  Our first week of school got off to a great start, as both staff and students were geared up and ready to go.  We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning for everyone.  At Open House, which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th, I will be sharing some of the details related to what is in store for the school year.  Please look for more details regarding the Open House schedule in next week's Dragon Tales.

Our enrollment is at 378 strong with 62 kindergartners and 21 new students in grades one through five.  Some of these new students are here as a result of the lottery, while others have moved into our attendance area.  We extend a big welcome to all of you.

I receive weekly updates on our residency verification process.  Based on today's information, there are still about 100 ISD families that have not confirmed their residency at the Board of Education.  The deadline is October 1, but central office personnel would prefer that it gets done as soon as possible.  Thank you for your attention to this matter if it applies to you.

I hope you enjoy the long Labor Day weekend.  Please remember there is no school on Thursday, September 5th for Rosh Hashanah.

Sincerely,

Terry Ricci

HELP ISD WITH BOX TOPS

As the volunteer coordinators for Box Tops for Education, we would like to ask for your help during the 2013-2014 school year.

The school house collection box is once again located in the corridor outside of the Main Office. Please put appropriately trimmed box tops in plastic baggies or envelopes (in groups of 50, when possible). Please make sure that your child's name and class are clearly labeled.

If you register at the Box Tops website you will learn about new ways to help our school reach our goal.

Exclusive online benefits:

  • Track our school's Box Tops earnings.
  • Print coupons for your favorite Box Tops brands.
  • Enter to win Bonus Box Tops for our school.
  • Make mealtime easier with family-pleasing recipes.
Box Tops offers three easy ways to earn cash for our school through everyday purchases --

all at no additional cost to you:

1. Clip Box Tops from your favorite brands - Clip Box Tops from hundreds of your family's favorite products from General Mills, Betty Crocker®, Pillsbury®, Ziploc®, Kleenex® and more. Box Tops are worth 10¢ each when our school redeems them. Check your pantry and start clipping!

2. Shop online and earn for our school - Box Tops has partnered with over 60 of the most popular online stores. Our school earns cash from every qualifying purchase.

3. Help our school with every charge - Earn 1% cash back for our school on every purchase. ISD earns the extra cash it needs and you get a 0% introductory APR with no annual fee.

Watch our school's progress online throughout the year. Check boxtops4education.com often for the latest news and information about the Box Tops program. Thank you for choosing to make a difference for our school with Box Tops!
