MONSTER MASH
5:30 - 8 pm @ Gym

Dear ISD Families,

Thank you PTA members for helping to support the family events at ISD.  With your support and membership we are able to offer the ISD community a variety of fun and enriching events like the Monster Mash and Math Night.

Please remember that
All ISD PTA Sponsored Events are Parent Participation Activities.

Parents and guardians are expected to remain at the event and appropriately supervise their children to ensure their safety and foster a safe environment for everyone in attendance.  We appreciate your cooperation and support and look forward to a great year of fun activities for the entire ISD community.

And Don't Forget ..... it is not too late to join the PTA!  All the activities the PTA sponsors are only possible because of the support of our members.

Thank you from your ISD PTA

We are still looking for Parent Volunteers to help with the fluoride rinse program.  If you are interested in helping, please come to the meeting or contact school Dental Hygienist, Jeannie Schnakenberg at 203.622-3779.

Only a small amount of time on Wednesday mornings is necessary to help with the program.

If you can not attend, please call Jeannie Schnakenberg, RDH, @ 203.622-3779 .

Thank you.  Jeannie Schnakenberg, RDH, BS.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

It is that time of year again to collect and bring in the "Box Tops for Education" coupons. Every dime counts, so please bring them in, even if you just have a few. There is a special collections box, in the shape of a schoolhouse, in the corridor, opposite the Main office. Please place the properly cut Box Tops in a sealed envelope or baggie with your child's name and class clearly written outside.  The class which collects the most Box Tops will be in store for a special class celebration.

REMINDER TO SCHOOL VISITORS

All visitors, whether volunteering, visiting, attending a staff appointment or class coffees, etc. must sign in at the front desk.

There is a binder on the office counter where you can sign your name, destination and entry/exit time. Nametags are included for your convenience.

recycle logo Welcome to The Green Dragon!

Take part in a worldwide event to inventory the trash that washes ashore.  You help collect trash and then it is inventoried and reported to NOAA.  In the past when an International Coastal Inventory has been completed, the information has been used to greatly influence the manner in which companies package their goods.  For instance, Morton salt used to use large plastic bags for the salt that fishermen use.  When thousands upon thousands of these bags were found washed ashore in a coastal inventory, Morton Salt was asked to change their packaging to paper boxes and they did!  This is a great opportunity for kids to help make a difference locally and globally.
