The highway is open for business! The highway bridge and roundabouts opened on Friday morning July 1. I have to admit my heart skipped a beat seeing the traffic flow over the bridge and make its way north. Although I think Sturgeon Bay did a great job with the traffic, it was getting to be just a bit too much to move the volume through the city comfortably, in my opinion.

Happy 4th a tad bit late. What a glorious weekend it was with the weather. We had our two sons and their families up for the fourth. We spent the day in Baileys Harbor, parade, food, beverages, food, great music, food, did I mention all the great food?? My three-year old grandson said at least ten times, "best day ever!" I have to admit it was a pretty great one!

So what's next? I noticed as we drove all over the county this past weekend that the cherry trees are just loaded with fruit. The harvest should be in the next few weeks, bringing the next huge wave of visitors into the county. With all of the great music, theater, art shows, and recreational opportunities that abound, I think there just might be a lot of little boys and girls saying "best day ever" in the coming months!

Enjoy the summer; this is our time.

Best Regards,
