Media Relations
Media assistance has been provided to 15 journalists/media outlets thus far in May by providing images, information, on-air/on-camera interviews and/or support for Door County based articles and stories. A few highlights included the Chicago Tribune, Milwaukee Magazine, FOX 32 WFLD, FOX 11 WLUK, NBC 26 WGBA, TravelWisconsin.com and Experience Wisconsin magazine.

We distributed a regional media release recapping the winners from our National Tourism Week breakfast event and distributed a national release about our Trail Genius initiative.

I had the opportunity to pitch a variety of Door County story ideas during 14 deskside visits with journalists at the spring Midwest Travel Writers Association meeting.

We welcomed 12 journalists to Door County on a spring themed press trip May 19-22. The weather was gorgeous and the cherry blossoms were at their finest! Our press trips continue in June with an islands and lighthouses themed trip June 16-19 and a summer themed trip June 20-24.  Check out the growing list of articles that have resulted from our media marketing program on our Google Drive folder at http://tinyurl.com/l6ym2mc.

Are you looking for employees?
Ready or not Memorial Day weekend is here which means Door County is going to be busy with tourists. Do you have enough employees? The Door County Job Center would like to remind you that you can have your own job fair at the Door County Job Center free of charge. They can set up a table for you inside of the resource room and they have meeting rooms if you would like to do onsite interviews. So far they have three employers taking advantage of this opportunity this summer. Does this sound like something your business would like to do? If so, please contact Missy Forry at: [email protected] or by calling 920-743-7273.  If they get enough interested employers, they would even consider holding a mini job fair to attract more applicants.
