DCVB Partner Newsletter

I hope you have a spooktacular weekend coming up. Happy Halloween to all of you. Halloween has always been a fun time in our family. We certainly don't decorate for the day, but it is my wife's birthday on October 31, so it is always fun. Just to balance things out a bit and so Susan doesn't have all the fun, my birthday happens to fall on February 14, yes, that's right, Valentine's Day. Speaking of celebrations, I was delighted to celebrate my 8 year anniversary being in Door County at the DCVB on October 15.

I hope many of you reading this newsletter are able to join us tonight for the DCVB annual meeting and dinner. The annual meeting portion is a bit of a misnomer since we only have one point of business of the agenda to elect the new incoming board members that have been vetted and discussed throughout the year, and the slate approved at the DCVB board meeting the month prior to the annual meeting. The dinner looks to be pretty darn good with Paul and his staff at the Lodge at Leathem Smith creating a memorable meal. I hope you have registered for the event.

In the last newsletter, I mentioned the school start hearing on October 29. I believe they have changed the date of that hearing to Thursday, November 5. We still don't have all the details on which room in the capital it will be held. But the October 29th date is definitely not happening.

As November 1 comes quickly into view, I would like to remind those that are year round businesses that we will continue to drive as many visitors as we can to the county and those that take a seasonal hiatus from being open, we wish you peace and relaxation and look forward to you reopening in Spring of 2016.

Thanks to all of you once again for a great 2015 season and taking care of all the visitors so well.

Best Regards,
