NHA Historic Sites Open Until October 10
|
Summer may be coming to an end, but our historic sites are still open for business! Don't miss out on using your 2016 All-Access Pass admission ticket (remember, it's good for one visit to each site throughout the season) to see the Oldest House, Fire Hose Cart House, Old Mill, Greater Light, and the Old Gaol historic properties.
Open daily from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. through Monday, October 10, 2016 (Columbus Day).

Four Centuries Domestic Walking Tour with NHA,

Saturday, September 10 19 A.M. - Noon $10 /person (cash only) Begins at the Oldest House 16 Sunset Hill
A unique collaborative walking tour with the Curator of the Mitchell House, and Nantucket Preservation Trust's Executive Director and a Nantucket Historical Association historical guide that looks at the changes in domestic life over four centuries and how it shaped homes, buildings, neighborhoods, and land use. Participants should meet at the Oldest House on Sunset Hill (tour will end on Main Street).

This installment celebrates the country of Mexico through culture, food, personal stories and entertainment. With the Our Nantucket series, the NHA opens the Whaling Museum for special, collaborative events with members of Nantucket's population hailing from diverse countries around the world.

Join the NHA and the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket (TWN) for a two-night run of Agatha Christie's iconic short story and play Witness for the Prosecution at the Quaker Meeting House. Christie, the best-selling novelist of all time, is famous for works such as And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and The Mousetrap.
Witness for the Prosecution is a murder mystery that will leave you at the edge of your pew until the very last moments! Directed by TWN Artistic Director Justin Cerne.

Join NHA Robyn and John Davis Chief Curator Michael Harrison for an evening of exploration and fun as we delve into the NHA's rich collection of artifacts and pick a "shelf" of objects to highlight! This month's theme is "The Gifts of Mrs. Durfee," showing an eclectic mix of textiles and family objects given to the NHA in the 1920s and 1930s by Mrs. Mary Hatch Durfee, descendant of a Nantucket family.

One of the most exciting and versatile chamber groups performing today, the Walden Chamber Players bring a rousing and eclectic combination of classical instrumentation with a piano quartet ensemble that draws from a rich palette of sources and styles.
