We watch this vibrant African-American community weave in and out of the house with Rose, a fierce caretaker and loyal wife, and Troy, former Negro Leagues baseball player-turned-garbageman, at the center of the action. Through one important event, the Maxson family is thrown into turmoil, and only the strength of community can show them the true power of forgiveness and belonging. Directed by former Brava Theater Center Artistic Director Raelle Myrick-Hodges, Fences marks Pulitzer Prize-winner Wilson's Cal Shakes debut. Tickets at tickets.calshakes.org.
