Update on the EBMUD Pumping Station Construction

Beginning Tuesday, June 7 or Wednesday, June 8,  crews will begin saw-cutting for initial pipeline work on Mount Diablo Blvd. between Mt Diablo Court and Carol Lane. To make space for the work, traffic control will be in effect on Mount Diablo Blvd. with one eastbound and one westbound lane open for vehicle travel. Pipeline installation is tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, June 13 and will continue throughout the month of June and July 2016. Future updates will be provided. Schedules are estimated and subject to change.

Heed no parking and speed limit signs and expect temporary traffic delays. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

Note that Pedestrians should continue to use the path created with orange barricades in the East bound parking lane. Since the some of the saw-cutting and future pipe installation work will cross the pedestrian path, please follow posted detour signs and flagmen, when present, to stay safe.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM  Monday through Friday.

Big Changes in the Delivery of Power to Lafayette

Thursday, June 9, 7pm, Lafayette Library & Learning Center

Whether you have a business or a home in Lafayette, you are about to discover that unless you "opt out" you will soon be receiving your electricity from MCE (Marin Clean Energy).  The city council approved the change as a way to lower the "carbon footprint" of Lafayette.  You have choices.  Learn about them when the Lamorinda Democratic Club hosts COMMUNITY CHOICE ENERGY  on Thursday, June 9, 7:00pm at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center.  MCE, a non-profit agency, replaces PG&E's job of determining power sources.  Instead of paying PG&E for electric delivery and electric generation, customer will now pay MCE for generation and PG&E for delivery.  You will still be billed by PG&E.  You will have a choice to "opt out" and stay with PG&E or pick one of MCE's programs.  Light Green comes from 52% renewable energy, Deep Green comes from 100% renewable sources and Local Sol comes from 100% local solar.  Costs will vary. For more information visit www.mcecleanenergy.org/Lafayette.
