EBMUD Pumping Station Project - East End Construction
Pipeline excavation at the intersection of Mt Diablo Court and Mt Diablo Blvd and on Mt Diablo Blvd in front of the Burrito shop east of Carol Lane is ongoing and will continue through May 6.  Parking will not be allowed in the work areas.  The parking and right West bound lane of Mt Diablo Blvd will be closed and traffic control will be in effect.  Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.
April 25 through May 6:  All West bound lanes will be closed.  West bound traffic will be directed to one of the East bound lanes.  One East bound lane will be open for East bound traffic. Traffic control will be in effect. Parking will not be allowed on Mt Diablo Blvd in the closure area.  Pedestrians should continue to use the path created with orange barricades in the East bound parking lane.
Additional closures may be needed.  You will be notified if that is the case. Expect delays and allow extra time for your trips.  The speed limit is 25 MPH. Please slow down.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM  M-F.
Water tanks and/or water trucks will be staged on Mt Diablo Blvd and on Old Tunnel Road for dewatering and flushing of the pipeline.  Flushing is required to make sure the pipe meets water quality standards.  The tank/truck will be in place from April 14 - May 6 including weekends.
Schedules subject to change. For more information about this project click here.

Please support our local businesses that are really taking a hit with this current construction. Blodgett's Abby Carpet & Flooring, The Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa, Lafayette Auto Body, Mt. Diablo Nursery & Minuteman Press are all inconvenienced by road closures.

Solicitation - No Affiliation to the Lafayette Chamber
Every once in a while, outside companies will find a way to gather local emails from websites like the chamber site and then send out an offer that sounds like it is endorsed or associated with the chamber. If you received an email from New Start Media LLC, please understand there is no connection between them and any local business or the chamber. We do not and will not promote their offer. The Lafayette Chamber has no affiliation with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well. We are sorry your business was targeted!

Show a little love to our neighbors in Moraga ...
As I know you are aware, our Sink Hole has qualified for emergency funding from the State of California. Although this is very good news,  the fact remains that this will be a very long restorative process. The Rheem Blvd. traffic has been diverted through both the Rheem and 24 Hour shopping centers which in itself is a challenge.
Our biggest concern is for the businesses that border the hole and construction area. For the most part they are small, privately owned businesses and quite frankly they are taking a big hit with this interruption in everyday business. Chef Chao, who have had their restaurant doors open for over 40 years, has had to close on a couple of evenings as there just were no customers.  These businesses include:  The New Rheem Theatre, Rheem Valley Pet Shoppe, Subway, Nation's, Ristorante Amoroma, Ariel, China Moon, Graze Food Bar, Home/made Kitchen as well as Chef Chao.
The Lamorinda area is really one community. I think we all work hard to support each other and we are all in this together. I am hoping that you could ask your members as well as members of the community at large, that over the next couple of weeks and months, to consider doing some shopping or dining at the Rheem Center and help these small business owners during this difficult time.
As always, I thank you for your energy and support of our entire business communities.
