EBMUD Work on Lafayette Circle
We finally have some good news to report.  The EBMUD crew completed the installation for the new water main line from Mt. Diablo Blvd. down to Hough along Lafayette Circle.  This week the new line is being pressure tested and chlorinated.  Next week will be a busy week as all the new connections to the individual businesses and apartments will be made.  Also expect the entrance to Lafayette Circle to be closed at sometime between April 28-May 6 for work under the cross walk between Misto Lino and Bank of the West.  If all goes well, they should have this job completed during the first week of May.

Questions? Please contact Matt Luttropp, Senior Engineer, City of Lafayette, at (925) 299-3247 or [email protected] or Stan Polite, EBMUD Project Manager, at (510) 774-6266 or [email protected].
Construction Update of the new Diablo Vista Pumping Plant
The construction of the new Diablo Vista Pumping Plant requires the installation of a 30" pipeline under Mt Diablo Blvd. from Mt Diablo Court to the old pumping plant east of Carol Lane. The pipeline work will be starting later this week and we expect the following traffic impacts, April 18 through April 22:  All West bound lanes will be closed.  West bound traffic will be directed to one of the East bound lanes.  One East bound lane will be open for East bound traffic.  Traffic control will be in effect.  Parking will not be allowed on Mt Diablo Blvd in the closure area.  Pedestrians should continue to use the path created with orange barricades in the East bound parking lane.

Expect delays and allow extra time for your trips.  The speed limit is 25 MPH. Please slow down.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM  M-F.

Water tanks and/or water trucks will be staged on Mt Diablo Blvd and on Old Tunnel Road for dewatering and flushing of the pipeline.  Flushing is required to make sure the pipe meets water quality standards.  The tank/truck will be in place from April 14 - April 22 including weekends. Schedules subject to change. For more information about this project click here.

The film follows a year in the life of Lincoln High Alternative School in Walla Walla, Washington. After radically changing its approach to disciplining students, Lincoln High School saw a dramatic turnaround in everything from the number of fights to test scores to graduation rates. The school has become a promising model of how to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that affect families through the practice of trauma-informed educational strategies and is a testament to what the latest research on childhood adversity is proving: that one caring adult can change the trajectory of a young person's life.  For more information click here.
