Now through April 5 - The One Planet Film Festival 2016 - hosted by Saint Mary's College
The One Planet Film Festival aims to stimulate discussions that can lead to awareness of Earth's growing environmental crises and ways our local community can respond. The films start at 7pm, are free and are open to the public. Held at St. Mary's college of California, 1928 Saint Mary's Road, Moraga. A full schedule can be found here.

Now through April 24 - Lights, Camera, Action... Lamorinda ShortDocs Film Fest
Grab your camera and get ready for the Lamorinda  ShortDocs Film Fest!  Lamorinda Arts Council will accept submissions of documentary films, 6 minutes or less, from filmmakers of all ages from March 1 through April 24. Even if you've never made a movie before, visit  http://www.lamorindaarts.org/shortdocs for on-line resources to get you started. Judges will select finalists in each of four categories by age (Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Adult).  Finalists' films will be screened and winners announced live at the festival event on May 15! Now through June 4 - Moraga Art Gallery "Capturing Moments of Motion"
The Moraga Art Gallery announces a new show entitled "Capturing Moments of Motion" highlighting paintings by resident artist Josie Osolin and figurative ceramic sculpture by guest artist Fred Yokel. The show runs from March 23 through June 4, 2016. The exhibit and reception are free and the public is invited to attend. The gallery is located in the Rheem Shopping Center, at 522 Center Street, Moraga. Now through June - Art Exhibit "Oscar's Excellent Year" at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center   
The City of Lafayette Public Art Committee welcomes its latest art exhibit "Oscar's Excellent Year" featuring local artist, Joanne Taeuffer. The exhibit is on display in the "Homework Center" at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center now through June.  The "Homework Center" is located inside the library and is accessible during regular library operating hours. Join us for our third annual Dogtown Downtown on Saturday, April 9 from 10am-12pm at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center & the Lafayette Plaza. Doggie Parade at 10am from the Lafayette Plaza Park to the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. In addition to the parade there will be a activities, demonstrations, exhibits and contests! Saturday, April 9 - Pet Portrait LIVE Painting with Artist Robert Carter at the Jennifer Permutter Gallery   
Watch a pet portrait created before your eyes with oil painter, Robert Carter. Dog treats on hand. Drop by with your dog before heading down to the parade or after Lafayette's Dogtown Downtown event. Saturday, April 9th, 10am-1pm at the Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery, 3620 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Robert will be accepting commissions for your pet portrait on Saturday. Come celebrate instead with the Lamorinda Wine Growers Association on its new designation as an American Viticultural Area (AVA) -- The Only AVA exclusive to Contra Costa County and one of 233 AVAs in the U.S. Your $25 ticket includes an Lamorinda AVA Commemorative wine glass. Saturday, April 23 - 10th Annual Moraga Triathlon  
Beginner or experienced triathletes can register for this great "sprint-distance" fitness event at moragatri.com. Age categories are 5 to 7, 8 to 11, and 12 and up. Fees increase April 1, so register NOW to participate! Volunteers receive a free event T-shirt and are needed in the swim/transition/registration areas, at the finish line, and as course monitors for the run and bike portions. Saturday, April 23 - Orinda Action Day
On Saturday, April 23 from 9:30 am to noon, the City of Orinda will be beautified and cleaned during the eighth annual Orinda Action Day of Community Service by community volunteers. Join in the fun! Check-in time is 9:30am at the Orinda Library Plaza on 26 Orinda Way, Orinda. The first 300 volunteers will receive a free tee-shirt, snacks and coffee upon registration.  Our D.J. and "Voice of Orinda", Steve Harwood, will be presenting prizes for unusual "finds." Saturday, April 23 - Assistance League of Diablo Valley's Operation School Bell Celebrates 50,000 Children Clothed
One of ten philanthropic programs, Assistance League� of Diablo Valley's nationally acclaimed Operation School Bell� has reached a milestone by clothing 50,000 children since 1994.  Celebrate with them on Saturday, April 23 at 11am. Tuesday, April 26 - Orinda Restaurants Tour
Dining Al Fresco in Orinda is back this Spring on Tuesday April 26 from 6pm-8pm.  The event will be held throughout and about Theater Square in downtown Orinda with most of
the Orinda restaurants providing samples of some of their finest offerings to tour participants who want to "taste" Orinda at its finest all in one, easy walking tour. Come enjoy your favorite places and discover the latest editions to Orinda dining scene.  The event is proposed by the Orinda Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at orindachamber.org. This year part of the sale will benefit the Miramonte High School Boosters Club. 
Friday, April 29 - Orinda Trivia Bee
The Orinda Chamber of Commerce and the Orinda Rotary present the Orinda Trivia Bee on Friday, April 29 at St Stephen's Episcopal Church, 66 St Stephens Dr, Orinda. Cost is $360 per team (up to 6 people per team), which includes a family style dinner. Doors open at 5pm, dinner at 6pm and the game is on at 7pm sharp. Saturday, April 30 - Acalanes High School Color Run
Be a part of the 1st Annual Acalanes Color Run! Our family friendly 1.5 mile course takes you through the Acalanes campus and grounds. There will be 5 color stations along the course that will transform you into a colorful rainbow by the time you cross the finish line. Each registered participant will receive a limited edition event shirt and be entered to win raffle prizes. The finish zone will have music, food and fun for all! This is not a timed event so feel free to skip, walk, or jog, just don't miss out! When life gives you color you run with it! Race starts at 9am, check-in begins at 8am. Cost:

Saturday, April 30 - Moraga Juniors Garden Tour
Stunning outdoor kitchens, dynamic water features, creative recreation areas and beautiful plants will all be on display at the 11th Moraga Juniors Garden Tour on Saturday, April 30, 2016. The self-guided tour, which takes place from 10am to 3pm, will showcase five unique gardens in the Lamorinda area. Guests will gather ideas and inspiration while supporting the Moraga Juniors' 2016 beneficiary.
