EBMUD Work on Lafayette Circle
A small crew for EBMUD will begin working on Lafayette Circle starting Monday, March 28 to prepare for completion of their new water main project that will begin on April 11.  Expect them to be on site for a couple of days.  There will no parking signs posted and flaggers will be directing traffic from Mt. Diablo Blvd. down to Hough (Bank of the West to the Chamber office).
Lafayette Art Gallery Closing March 31 - Now 25% off!
Lafayette Art Gallery After 17 years, the Lafayette Art Gallery will be closing it's doors. Almost everything in the Gallery - Paintings, Sculpture, Ceramics, Glass Works and Jewelry - is on sale, 25% off! The last day the Gallery will be open to the public is Thursday, March 31
Saturday, April 9 - Dogtown Downtown - 10am-12noon - Lafayette Library and Learning Center
Dogtown Downtown 2016Join us for our third annual Dogtown Downtown on Saturday, April 9 from 10am-12pm at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center & the Lafayette Plaza.

Start with the parade from the Plaza to the Library led by Lafayette's own police force.

Channel your dog's inner style during the Doggie Vogue fashion show. Dress like you pet. Take a photo of your pet playing football in the Puppy Bowl or kissing your treasured dog in the Four Seasons Kissing Booth.

Stop by a booth to visit Canine Companions, ARF's Hug Pack,  County Animal Services, The Tail Haven, Merrill Gardens, Renewal by Anderson, Rivulet, etc...

Make a thunder shirt with the Girl Scouts working on their Silver Project. Or visit the library tables to make chew toys from recycled t-shirts.  Try a cookie from Huckleberry Kitchen or dog friendly ice cream from Smitten. There is something for everyone at every age.

Tuesday, April 12 - Business Outreach Committee Roundtable Discussion - 2:30pm-3:30pm - Alameda County Transportation Commission
On behalf of the Business Outreach Committee (BOC), you are invited to participate in a roundtable discussion with Bay Area transit and transportation agencies to share information concerning the availability of disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged businesses, the effects of discrimination on opportunities for DBEs, agencies efforts to establish a level playing field, and the goal methodology used for federally-assisted contracts for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2017-2019.

Consultation sessions will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm at the Alameda County Transportation Commission located on 1111 Broadway, 8th Floor, Oakland, CA. Immediately following the consultation session, from 4pm-6pm, BOC member agencies will hold a meeting to inform the public of their contracting opportunities and to hear comments and/or suggestions on how agencies can improve their DBE program. Now Scheduling Chamber Mixers in 2017!
We are currently scheduling our monthly mixers for 2017. They are held the 4th Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm-7:00pm. These events are very popular and go fast. Schedule your event today by contacting Barbara at Barbara@Lafayettechamber.org. A Chamber Mixer is a great way to get people through your doors and to showcase your business! The only months we do not hold mixers are January, July, and August.

Thanks also to GSE (Global Student Embassy) and Boy Scout Troop 212 for providing volunteers for cleanup and take-down teams. ALL of these are essential for us to provide the best community event possible.

Monday, March 28 - Art Exhibit "Speaking Through Art - A Special Perspective" - 6pm-7pm - Library Gallery
The City of Lafayette Public Art Committee invites the public to attend a welcome reception for a very special art exhibit, "Speaking Through Art - A Special Perspective," featuring artists from Las Trampas, an agency which serves individuals with developmental disabilities. The reception will be held at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, Library Gallery, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016. Join us for the second program in a series about end-of-life issues. Dr. Robert Cole, Associate Medical Director of Hospice East Bay, presents on the benefits of hospice and palliative care. Dr. Cole will share his story as a stage IV Melanoma cancer survivor and explain the valuable resources both hospice and palliative care services are and what they offer individuals challenged by declining health.
