Tuesday, March 8 -  Lafayette Chamber's Young Professionals - Mix & Mingle at Postino - 5:30pm
The next gathering of the Lafayette Chamber's YoungProfessionals will meet on Tuesday, March 8 at 5:30pm at Postino, 3565 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette. Professionals age 40 and younger are invited to wind down, mix and mingle after work in a wonderful Lafayette venue. Learn more here

Runner_s Mind A Runner's Mind, America's Local Run Specialty Store, will be opening up it's doors this April in Lafayette (3541 Plaza Way). Friday, March 18 - Lafayette's Citizen of the Year Dinner Celebrating Tom Steuber - 6:00pm-9:00pm - Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa 
Tom Steuber has presided as Scoutmaster for Lafayette's Boy Scout Troop 204 for twelve years. He has guided hundreds of boys through their scouting journey including an unprecedented 100 scouts that have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition to his work with Lafayette's youth, Tom's company Associated Services, has reached out and supported underprivileged teachers, schools and classrooms throughout the Bay Area.  A remarkable humanitarian and a special Lafayette neighbor.

Lafayette Art _ Wine Committee March 3_ 2016 Thanks to this year's volunteer committee, our kick-off meeting was a huge success. Big shout out to our 2016 Volunteer Chair: Brian Aiello! Monday, March 7 - Oakland ZooMobile at the Lafayette Library - 12:00pm & 1:00pm - Community Hall. An Oakland Zoo Education Specialist will bring small live animals to the Lafayette Library! Wednesday, March 9 - Wonders of the World: Pierre Bonnard: Painting Arcadia at the Lafayette Library
This first major international presentation of Pierre  Bonnard's work to be mounted on the West Coast in half a century features more than sixty works that span the artist's complete career, from his early Nabi masterpieces, through his experimental photography, to the late interior scenes for which he is best known. March 9, 2pm - 3:30 in the Community Hall. Learn more here.

Thursday, March 10 - Nature Journaling Workshop with Naturalist John Muir Laws
Do you want to keep a nature journal or bump your current practice to a higher orbit? Join us for the first of a monthly nature journaling workshop series. See the possibilities of what a journal can be and how to make journaling and drawing a life changing habit. If you already have a journal kit, bring it along plus any personal favorite sketching or nature study supplies. March 10, 1pm - 2pm in the Arts and Science Discover Center. Learn more here

Thursday, March 10 - Hospice East Bay: The Conversation Project at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center
Join us for the first program in a series about end-of-life issues. The program begins with a screening of the short film "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande. The Conversation Project is dedicated to helping people talk about their wishes for end-of-life care. This isn't about filling out Advance Directives or other medical forms. It's about talking to your loved ones about what you or they want for end-of-life care. Trained instructors from Hospice East Bay will help you begin the process. March 10, 6pm - 7:30pm in the Arts & Science Discover Center. Learn more here.

Saturday, March 12 - Author Talk: Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness at the Lafayette Library
Two Bay Area authors will be discussing their books related to Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness. Please join them for this enlightening discussion. D'Anne Burwell, M.A., author of Saving Jake: When Addiction Hits Home, is an educator and advocate for families struggling with addiction. Erin Marie Daly is a freelance journalist with a background in legal reporting and founder of Oxy Watchdog, a blog about painkiller and heroin addiction. She is the author of Generation Rx: A Story of Dope, Death, and America's Opiate Crisis. March 12, 3pm-4:30 in the Arts and Science Discovery Center. Learn more here.
