Citizen's Police Academy begins Wednesday, February 24 at 7:00pm. For the next six weeks, a select group of residents and business owners will have the opportunity to see and do things that not too many people get to do:  visit the jail (and leave with a clean record!), drive a police car, shoot a rifle, collect DNA at a crime scene, and visit the coroner's office.  And who can pass on the opportunity to rob one of our local banks? (We actually do this -- you don't get to keep the cash though). These are just some of the experiences that our participants in the program. They also get a chance to meet and spend time with our officers, who really enjoy the program.  There's no running, wall climbing, or anything like that involved in the program, so don't worry about that. But if you do join, you have to come with the expectation that you'll learn something new and maybe even make a few new friends.   The program is free, there are still a few openings. Email Cathy Surges-Moscato at the police department for an application today!
