February 8 - Chamber Office Will Be Closed 11:30am-2pm for Board Meeting
The Chamber office will be closed on Monday, February 8 from 11:30am-2pm to attend our February Board Meeting. We will be open 2pm-4pm.
 
Thursday, February 11 - Ribbon Cutting at Farmyard Darlings
Join us on Thursday, February 11, for a Ribbon Cutting at the Farmyard Darlings new location at 20 Lafayette Circle (formerly The Hen House) from 5:00pm - 5:30pm.
 
Last Call for Nomination for our 2016 Citizen of the Year - Deadline February 12
Do you have a person in mind for the City of Lafayette to honor as 2016 Citizen of the Year?

Criteria are as follows:
  • Must NOT be a current elected or paid member of any city council, school board or commission;
  • Must be a current Lafayette resident;
  • Must be someone who has given of their time, money or energy to help make Lafayette a healthy community, where people will want to live, work and shop;
  • Must be someone who models excellence in everything they do;
  • Must be someone who brings this community together and/or makes us proud to be a member of the community.
A celebration dinner will be held on Friday, March 18 at the Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa to honor the winner. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, February 12.

The 2016 Lafayette Citizen of the Year Award is co-sponsored by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and Lamorinda Weekly. Please email your nomination to Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jay Lifson at [email protected].
 
February 15 - Chamber Office Will Be Closed in Honor of Presidents Day
The Chamber office will be closed on Monday, February 15 in honor of President's Day. We will reopen at 9am on Tuesday, February 16.

Join us Wednesday, February 17 for "Reel Talk - Extended Remix" Workshop, 8:00 am - 9:30 am at Lafayette Library and Learning Center's Art & Science Classroom. Topic includes the basics of using online video to market your business - from production to distribution. Speaker: Stephanie Shaterian, fLO Content, www.flocontent.com.

February 20 - LPIE Power Party
LPIE Power Party 2016 LPIE Power Party and fundraiser will be held on Saturday, February 20 from 6:30pm-10:30pm at the Lafayette Community Center. Have fun, and help raise funds for our children and local schools. This celebratory evening is powered by parents and community and will feature live music from The Ripplers, dinner and drinks (open bar), live and silent auctions, raffles, and a whole lot more. The second and final part of Tony Kushner's epic masterpiece comes to an end.  This Pulitzer Prize-winning drama continues the story begun with Millennium Approaches: the lives of Reagan-ear New Yorkers is turned upside-down as they face revelations about themselves and what it means to be an American at the dawn of the Second Millennium. Rated R. Town Hall Theatre is located at 3535 School St., Lafayette. What's Happening at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center
Monday, February 1 - 29 - Geocaching Adventure - All Day, Every Day in February - Library Open Space. Take part in our great Geocaching Adventure! We will hide multiple caches throughout the City of Lafayette. Find them all to be entered into a raffle to win various prizes such as gift cards and books. Pick up your geocaching log at the Information Desk. Designed for: Middle School (Grades 6-8), High School (Grades 9-12), Teens (12-17).

Wednesday, February 10 - WOW Presents: The Asian Art Museum Golden Jubilee
The Asian Art Museum turns 50 this year. This Golden Jubilee lecture highlights ancient and contemporary masterpieces from the museum's collection, including objects found nowhere else. Learn what makes a work of art great, and why masterpieces stand the test of time. February 10, 2pm-3pm in the Community Hall. A free event. Registration required.

Saturday, March 5 - Night at the Lafayette Library
On Saturday, March 5, at 7pm we'll be breaking all the library rules! Join us in the Community Hall for "A Night at the Lafayette Library" and go library rogue!
