Now  - December 26 - Lafayette Art Gallery's Exhibit "Artful Gifting"
Lafayette Art Gallery's new exhibit is titled "Artful Gifting," opening November 3 and running through December 26. Noted glass artist David Strock will be featured as a guest from Nov 3-14. David is a Lafayette glass artist and was featured in Sunset Magazine and Diablo Magazine. There will be a free reception showcasing David's work, with beverages and snacks, from 12 - 3 PM on Sunday, November 8. Lafayette Art Gallery's talented group of local artists will also be exhibiting new works, all themed around gifting and the upcoming holiday season" "Artful Gifting." Now - December 31 - Moraga Art Gallery presents "Yellowstone: Beauty, Beasts and Boneyards"
As we approach the holidays, Moraga Art Gallery presents a new show, "Yellowstone: Beauty, Beasts and Boneyards", featuring Lisa Gunn, oil painter and Lisa Neimeth, ceramicist. The gallery is located at 522 Center Street in Moraga's Rheem Shopping Center. We are excited to announce our new holiday hours, starting December 1st thru December 24. December 3 - Holiday Tree Lighting - Moraga Commons
Moraga's Holiday Tree Lighting takes place on Thursday, December 3 at 6:30pm at the Moraga Commons. 6:30 p.m. - Cookies and hot cocoa with holiday songs by the Rossmoor Community Chorus. Gather at the foot of the tree. 7:00 p.m. - Santa arrives to turn on the lights!

December 4 - "It's a Wonderful Life" Holiday Celebration
Join us at our 3rd annual "It's a Wonderful Life" Holiday Celebration in Plaza Park at the intersection of Moraga Road and Mt. Diablo Blvd. from 4pm-6:30pm on Friday, December 4. December 4 - 5 - Stanley Wildcats on Stage presents Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew"
Witness a furious battle of the wits! Stanley Wildcats on Stage presents Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew," a colorful olde English comedy. Two shows only: Dec. 4th at 7pm, and Dec. 5 at 5pm. Tickets available at the door: children and seniors $8, adults $12. Refreshments will be available.

December 4 - 6 - Santa's Bag Boutique
Santa's Bag Boutique takes place at Lafayette Community Center, 500 St Marys Rd, Lafayette on Friday, December 4 from 11am-7pm and Saturday, December 5 & Sunday, December 6 from 9am-5pm. Beautiful decorations, holiday gifts and the delicious smell of warm baked treats. Create new memories at the 24th Annual Santa's Bag Holiday Boutique in Lafayette. Featuring over 60 artists with beautiful handcrafted holiday items and works of art. Gift baskets from local merchants and citizens to benefit the Lafayette Community Center. Admission - Free. December 4 - 6 - Hacienda Holiday Faire
The 14th Annual Holiday Faire has expanded to a new location - the historic Hacienda De Las Flores in Moraga. One of a kind handmade gifts and gourmet foods from over 40 local artisans. Fundraiser for the Hacienda Foundation. December 4 - noon-8pm and December 5 & 6 from 11am-6pm. Complimentary wine tasting with Captain Vineyards 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, December 4th.

December 5 - Free Photo with Santa
Please join 5A Rent-A-Space for our 8th annual "FREE PHOTO with SANTA" event Saturday, December 5, 11am-3pm at 455 Moraga Road, Moraga. Families will receive a free photo and frame. Cookies, fruit and hot cocoa and candy canes will be served and children will make a craft. It's all FREE and everyone is welcome. 5A also has SANTA'S SECRET WRAPPING ROOM open to the public starting December 1-23rd during business hours. This decorated area is set up with tables, chairs, wrapping paper, scissors, tape and ribbon. Everything needed to get presents wrapped FREE! Especially handy if you need to wrap gifts without the watchful eyes of the recipients.

There will be a tree lighting at Orinda Theatre Square on Saturday, December 5 at 7:30pm as well as Santa Visits + Horse & Carriage Rides; Free Gourmet Coffee Drinks & Hot Chocolate; Lamorinda Theater Academy Performance at 7pm and Kids Ornament Workshop. Click here for more information.

December 5 - 19 - Town Hall Theatre presents Harvey
Town Hall Theatre presents Harvey by Mary Chase from December 5 - 19, with previews December 3 - 4. This year, gather with your whole family for the magic tale of Elwood P. Dowd and his best friend - a 6-foot, 3-and-a-half-inch tall invisible rabbit named Harvey. What better way to warm up your holiday season, than with this imaginative classic! December 6 - Public Menorah Lighting - Plaza Park
A public menorah lighting is scheduled at Lafayette Plaza Park on Sunday, December 6. At 4pm activities for families and children will be organized in the Hanukkah tradition with food, crafts, music and dancing. The first candle on the 10-foot menorah will be lit at 5pm. December 10 - Coping with the Holidays
Hospice of the East Bay offer a class on Coping with the Holidays on Thursday, December 10 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill.The holiday season can be a difficult time of year and especially so for those who have lost loved ones. Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery's new exhibit for December 10 thru December 31 is "A Visual Feast". An Exhibit featuring children's book illustrators original art, reproductions and children's books for sale. 10% of all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society. December 11 - Adonal Foyle Author Talk & Book Signing.

Join us to meet Adonal Foyle - author, philanthropist, retired NBA player who started his career playing for the Golden State Warriors, and graduate of JFK University's Sport Psychology program on Friday, December 11 at 6:30pm at John F. December 12 - Trust in Education - Packing Party

The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce wants to take a moment to Thank Budd MacKenzie and everyone working with Trust in Education for the twelve years of help and support given to so many Afghan families and villages. The ongoing relationship and partnership has made a difference for so many in Afghanistan and here in in the U.S. Once again TIE is able to ship needed items to Afghanistan. This is your chance to get connected with this good work. The next "Packing Party" will be held on Saturday, December 12, 10:00am - 3:00pm at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 66 Saint Stephens Drive, Orinda. December 13 - Going to Disneyland Book Release Party.

A book release party of "Going To Disneyland: A Guide for Kids & Kids at Heart", a brand new Going To Guide will be held on Sunday, December 13 from 4-6pm at the Art & Science Room of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. The book is now available from Orchard Hill Press. Come celebrate the release, check out a copy of the book or bring your book to be signed and/or inscribed by local Lafayette author Shannon Laskey as you enjoy festive nibbles! Purchase a $5 raffle ticket for your chance to win a free book, a Fan Pack, a book bag or a signed "It's A Small World" print from internationally-acclaimed "Going To Disneyland" contributing artist Kirsten Ulve! Proceeds from the raffle will go to Lafayette's fabulous education foundation, LPIE.

December 16 - WomenSing presents Make Good Cheer Concert

WomenSing presents Make Good Cheer on Wednesday, December 16 at 8:00pm at Saint Mary's College Chapel, 1928 St. Mary's Road, Moraga. This concert celebrates the gift of choral music-the gift singers offer their audience, and the gift the audience returns to the singers. We will begin with Benjamin Britten's beloved A Ceremony of the Carols, and continue with music we have performed through the course of WomenSing's fifty years, including Pablo Casals' Nigra Sum and Hanget Soi (Singing Snow), by Finnish composer Heikki Sarmanto. December 19 - Patti Leidecker Holiday Concert

Patti will be singing and playing holiday songs on the baby grand piano once owned by Dom DeLuise. Tickets are $15 general adminssion, $12 for seniors / children and include a light reception. Don't forget that you can purchase your tickets in advance for no additional fee here.

December 24 - January 2 - Chamber Office Closed for Holiday -  closes at noon on Wednesday, December 23 and re-opens on Monday January 4 at 9:00am.
