Tuesday, November 24 - Tomorrow - Parking Ordinance Committee Meeting - 5:00pm

City of Lafayette logo The Parking Committee has been meeting for two years. They are wrapping up some observations and recommendations for implementation. Tuesday's agenda includes: Public Comment, Discussion Items - (continued from previous meeting) Review and finalize the implementation table, Review and finalize responses to the City Council's questions, Develop list of short term implementation items for City Council's review and Schedule POC meetings for December/January. The meeting will held tomorrow Tuesday, November 24 at 5:00pm in the City Conference Room #265 at the City Offices, 3675 Mt. Diablo Blvd. The meeting should run about 90 minutes.

Chamber Office Closes at Noon on Wednesday, November 25
 
Thanksgiving The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce office will close at noon on Wednesday, November 25 for the Thanksgiving Holiday and will reopen on Monday, November 30 at 9:00am. Our staff wishes you and your family at Happy Thanksgiving.

Friday, December 4 - It's a Wonderful Life Holiday Celebration

The 3rd annual "It's a Wonderful Life in Lafayette" community celebration to kick off the holiday season is scheduled for Friday, December 4, from 4:00-6:30p.m., in Lafayette's Plaza Park, located in downtown Lafayette.  Complimentary admission. Arrive early and plan to stay! This fun and festive event includes visits with Santa, official holiday tree lighting ceremony, one-of-a-kind photo ops, live musical entertainment, crafts, holiday treats and a holiday sing-a-long. City of Lafayette logo The City of Lafayette wants to know what you think about traffic in the downtown.  Fill out a survey about your travel habits and give us your ideas about how to improve traffic congestion, parking, transit, and bicycle and pedestrian modes by visiting www.lafayettecongestion.com

Wednesday, December 9 - Holiday Mixer at US Bank

Join us at U.S. Bank located at 3498 Mt. Diablo Blvd. on Wednesday, December 9  for food, fun, beverages and our big holiday raffle. This is the mixer you don't want to miss. Enjoy food from many of our award winning restaurants and caterers. Get recognized and bring a raffle prize. We promise a fun evening! The mixer is $10 for members. Bring at least 3 canned items for the Food Bank and admission is free.
 
Lamorinda Challenge - Bay Area Rescue Mission Christmas Toy Drive - 

Let's brighten the holiday of those in need! To benefit the children of Richmond. We are looking for site host such as churches, businesses, schools, civic groups and clubs to collect for our Christmas Gift Drive. We will accept donations of new UNWRAPPED gifts for children within the price range of $15.00 to $20.00. Age Ranges Needed: Infant to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 12, 13 to 18. Our goal for this drive is 3,000 gifts. We encourage you to create your own collection bin and make it beautiful to encourage others to contribute to your drive. The Lamorinda Challenge ends on Saturday December 19, at out BIG Gift Wrapping party at Willow Spring Church, 1689 School Street, Moraga from 10AM to 2PM. For more information contact Sherry Diestler at Willow Spring Church by calling (925) 247-8210.

The Bay Area Rescue Mission provides meals, emergency shelter, discipleship programs, job and life-skills training.
 
Business Person of the Year Nomination Form Available

We are accepting nomination forms for the 2016 Business Person of the Year. We will honor this person in January at our annual dinner which also includes the Mayor's State of the City Address and the introduction of our new Chamber Board.  Click here to download a nomination form.  Nomination forms are due Friday, December 11.


What's Happening at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center

Thursday, November 26 - Library Closed all day for Thanksgiving Holiday. Library closes on Wednesday, November 25 at 6:30pm.
