November 1 - Lafayette Community Foundation's Garage Tour

The Lafayette Community Foundation presents its Annual Garage Tour on November 1. The event starts at 12pm with live music, classic cars and food trucks. The tour of custom garages goes from 1pm-4pm. Proceeds of the event benefit the Lafayette Community Foundation. Tickets are $35 and can be ordered at LafayetteCF.org. November 3 - December 26 - Lafayette Art Gallery's Exhibit "Artful Gifting"
Lafayette Art Gallery's new exhibit is titled "Artful Gifting," opening November 3 and running through December 26. Noted glass artist David Strock will be featured as a guest from Nov 3-14. David is a Lafayette glass artist and was featured in Sunset Magazine and Diablo Magazine. There will be a free reception showcasing David's work, with beverages and snacks, from 12 - 3 PM on Sunday, November 8. Lafayette Art Gallery's talented group of local artists will also be exhibiting new works, all themed around gifting and the upcoming holiday season" "Artful Gifting." In addition, the annual "Holiday Boutique" opens November 16 and runs through December 26. Lafayette Art Gallery is located at 3420 Mt. November 6 - Winter Coat Dropoff at Lafayette Chamber Office
Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary Club will have bins at Orinda Community Center, the Orinda Association office right by the library elevator, the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce office, and Lafayette's Mechanics Bank Monument Crisis Center coat drop offs on Friday, November 6. Bins will be dropped off in the morning and be available at the site from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Someone will pick them up (along with contents) between 5:00 pm. and 5:30 pm.

November 6 & 7 - A Gathering of The Tribal Knowledge
A Gathering of the Tribal Knowledge is a 2-night panel discussion covering the historical, social, archival and cultural influences and aspects of the Grateful Dead with long-time members of the Grateful Dead extended family. Following the discussion will be an historic musical celebration featuring Grateful Dead tribute band The Golden Rose, a collection of some of the finest Grateful Dead influenced musicians in all of the Bay Area! David Gans will be performing with the Golden Rose on Friday night, and Donna Jean Godchaux-Mackay will be performing with the band BOTH nights. November 6 - December 5 - Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery exhibit "Wild"
Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery's new exhibit for November 6 - December is "Wild" - Animal Portraits and Cityscapes by Dan San Souci. There will be an artist reception on Friday, November 6 from 6-8pm. November 7 - Lafayette Juniors 22nd Annual Rummage Sale
The Lafayette Juniors' 22nd Annual Rummage Sale takes place on Saturday, November 7 - 8 am - 2 pm. Special early bird entrance fee $5 per adult from 7 am - 8 am. NEW LOCATION Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane in Lafayette. Pre-loved designer clothes, baby and kid clothes, toys, and gear, furniture, household goods, and much more. Cash only. November 12 - Coping with the Holidays
The holiday season can be a difficult time of year and especially so for those who have lost loved ones. Please join us for a support group and discussion on coping with grief and loss during what can be stressful times. November 12 - "Can We Solve the Climate Crisis"
Steve Richard will share the many ways that you can be part of the solution on the "Road to Paris." Learn the latest climate facts from Sustainable Lafayette Founder, Steve Richard, who was recently trained by Al Gore and the Climate Reality Project, and why this may be the most important negotiation of our lifetimes. This free event takes place on Thursday, November 12 from 7-8:30pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane and will include complimentary french wine and cheese tasting! No RSVP needed.

November 13 - 15 - Diablo Ballet presents "A Swingin' Holiday and More"
TDiablo Ballet presents A Swingin' Holiday and More on November 13-15 at Del Valle Theatre, 1963 Tice Valley Blvd, Walnut Creek. Your holidays begin with the new 2015 Edition of A Swingin' Holiday by Broadway choreographer Sean Kelly, set to 30's & 40's music by legends Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Nat "King" Cole, and Wynton Marsalis, as well as jazzy renditions of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, performed by the Diablo Ballet Swing Orchestra. The performance also features the Diablo Ballet Premiere of the classical Tchaikovsky Dances duet by Norbert Vesak, set to Tchaikovsky's score from the opera, Eugene Onegin, made famous by the internationally-adored duo Cynthia Gregory and Fernando Bujones. November 14 - Caring for the Caregiver
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is offering a free interactive workshop "Caring for the Caregiver" on Saturday, November 14 from 9am to Noon. Focusing on the needs of caregivers, this workshop will connect you with resources, tools and support. November 15 - Funday Sunday
The Contra Costa Jewish Day School events you to Funday Sunday on November 15 from 3:00-4:30pm at 955 Risa Road. Enjoy "King Solomon and the Bees" a sweet retelling of a traditional Jewish tale. After the story make beautiful bee's wax candles to take home for Hanukkah.

November 20 - 37th Annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast
Our 37th Annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast takes place on Friday, November 20 at 7:00am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane. This year's guest speaker is Rev. Dr. David Sammons and his topic is "Your Resume vs. Your Eulogy". Music will be provided by harpist Wendy Tamis and Dave's Cuisine will be providing breakfast. Reservations required.

November 20 - The Best of CAIFF - Founder's Night
The films shown this evening are some of the top favorites of CAIFF Founder, Derek Zemrak. The films are chosen from among the 17 years of independent film festivals he has organized. Will it be a feature film tonight, or a collection of shorts, or a documentary or two? Come and be surprised!
November 21 - Jazz Series at the Rheem Theatre
