Monday, November 9 - Joint Meeting on Downtown Congestion

For those who are concerned about downtown congestion, be aware that Lafayette has commissioned a downtown congestion reduction study funded by grant money from the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. ARUP is the project consultant, and it is collecting data and assessing existing traffic conditions and historical trends in the downtown area. ARUP will present a briefing to a joint session of the City Council and the Circulation Commission on Monday, November 9 at 7 p.m. in the Community Hall at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. Following the briefing, Lafayette will also launch a web module to gather public opinions about traffic concerns and priorities to inform the consultant's next steps, which will include developing a range of solution options for further public discourse. All interested residents are invited to attend the briefing and be on the watch for the survey launch.
