Now - October 31 - Moraga Art Galley's exhibit
Color, Clay and Fire
Moraga Art Gallery's exhibit Color, Clay and Fire features works created by Jacqueline Proulx, ceramicist and dramatic light-and-color paintings by Marge Barta Atkins. The gallery is located at 522 Center St. in the Rheem Valley Shopping Center. The show runs through October 31. For more information on the show visit their website.

September 1 - October 31 - Lafayette Art Gallery's exhibit "Artists in Action"

Lafayette Art Gallery's new exhibit "Artists in Action" runs from September 1 thru October 31 and will focus on action! FREE Reception Friday, September 18 - 5:30-8:00pm. The featured artists for September will be Pat Hayashi, creator of the unique and celebrated "Smoke Paintings," and Geoffrey Meredith, whose popular cityscapes are known throughout the Bay Area and the Wine Country. Selected artists will be demonstrating their techniques in action at the Gallery on September 26 and 27 from 12 - 3 PM. The gallery is located at 3420 Mt. September 3 - Julie Schumer Paints LIVE

September 4 - October 3 - Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery's Exhibit The Outsiders
Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery's exhibit The Outsiders runs from September 4 through October 3. There will be an Artists Reception on Thursday, September 10 from 6-8pm and an Artist's Talk with Nikki Basch Davis and Jerrold Turn on Thursday, September 24 from 6-7pm. September 5 - Will Durst and Johnny Steele at Town Hall Theatre
Town Hall Theatre is proud to present the combined comedic forces of Johnny Steele & Will Durst on Saturday, September 5 at 8pm. Steele & Durst have previously performed at Town Hall, but this is the first joint appearance of these comedic powerhouses and each will not only be performing an extended headliner set, but the two will team up for an exclusive Q & A after the show. September 6 - Community Celebration - Happy Birthday Marquis!
Please join French For Fun and the Chamber of Commerce for an afternoon of fun and music on Sunday, September 6. We celebrate the Marquis de Lafayette's 258th birthday in Plaza Park (Mt. Diablo and Moraga Rd.) with a casual gathering that includes music provided by Isabelle Fontaine and Jeff Magidson "Duo Gadjo" - Gypsy Jazz , French Classics and Cajun music. We get started at noon. September 10 - 16 - California Independent Film Festival
See a wide variety of outstanding independent films from creative film makers from around the world. Interact with actors, directors, and screen writers. September 11 - 12 - Orinda Classic Car Show
The 11th Annual Orinda Class Car Show starts with Dancing with the Cars party of the Orinda Library, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, September 12th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., the town of Orinda hosts the Annual Classic Car Show. This free event continues to delight car fans of all ages and benefits the "Seniors Around Town" transportation service, an Orinda Association program, The Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO) and other fine causes. September 12 - October 3 - Orinda Starlight Village Players Present Pinocchio.
Orinda Starlight Village Players present Pinocchio from September 12 - October 3. Carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a small Italian village, Pinocchio is created as a wooden puppet, but dreams of becoming a real boy. This adaptation follows the original Adventures of Pinocchio written by Carlo Collodi in 1881-1883. For more information and to purchase tickets visit their website.

September 13 - Gardening All Year: Prepping Your Garden for Fall
The Lafayette Community Garden invites you to a class on Gardening All Year: Prepping Your Garden for Fall on Sunday, September 13 from 3:00-4:30pm at 3932 Mt. Diablo Blvd. There will be a special bonus: Beginners' Lesson on Seed Saving. This class will go over a variety of techniques to help the transition to your Fall garden: seed saving, crop rotation, soil amending, cool weather edible crops, sheet mulching and planting natives. Lori Caldwell, aka CompostGal, teaches sustainable gardening classes throughout the Bay Area. Participants: To practice techniques of seed saving, please bring seed heads, pods, fruit, etc. to prepare and trade with others for a simple seed swap. In the interest of diversity, please bring only heirloom and/or open pollinated seed varieties. Classes at the Lafayette Community Garden, unless specified, are free. However, a $5 donation to support our education programs is appreciated. Register here.

September 16 - City of Lafayette Blood Drive

How to Leverage Social Media to Help You Get the Most from Events Workshop on Wednesday, September 16 at 8:00am at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. In this workshop we'll talk about easy steps to leverage social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn) to get the most from these events. This includes tips for integrating social media efforts with traditional marketing and event communication strategies.

September 19 - 20 - 20th Annual Lafayette Art & Wine Festival
The 20th Annual Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is held on Saturday, September 19 from 10am-7pm and Sunday September 20 from 10am-6pm. That's when we throw Contra Costa's biggest "End of the Summer Party" and winner of the Diablo Magazine's Best of the East Bay Award. September 26 - 6th annual Walk n' Roll 
You can combine your daily exercise with a fun family event...breakfast, live entertainment, goodie bags, raffle prizes and a really Cool T-shirt. September 26 - Moraga Pear Festival
The Moraga Commons is the site of this 17th annual family friendly event on Saturday, September 26 that celebrates Moraga's pear history and its growing vineyards. Activities include a pear eating contest, a pear recipe contest, grape stomping, wine tasting, and visiting the booths of local artists, plus those of community and business vendors. September 26 - La Clinica's All That Jazz

September 26 - Gold Coast Chamber Players Present Gypsy
The Gold Coast Chamber Players present Gypsy on Saturday, September 26 at 7:30pm at the Community Hall of the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. Artistic Director Pamela Freund leads the Gold Coast Chamber Players in Gypsy, featuring violinist Geoff Nuttall, cellist Robert Howard, and pianist Jeffrey LaDeur. The program includes works by Ravel, Bartok, Brahms, and Haydn, spanning several centuries of music inspired by Gypsy exoticism.
