Lafayette Chamber of Commerce  August 24, 2015 News & Events
Lafayette Loses One Of It's Great Leaders

We mourn the passing of Ann M. Denny, our Chamber's Executive Director from 1993 - 2005.  Ann had been battling cancer for the past four years.  In the end, she was surrounded by her BIG loving family at her home on Swan's Island, Maine.  When Ann joined the chamber,  this organization was struggling.  Ann had already proved her skills at planning, organization and fundraising at her jobs with the American Diabetes Assoc. and the March of Dimes.  Her leadership lead to a growth of chamber membership and community involvement that was an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with.  Her gracefulness and her smile will never be forgotten by this community she helped build.  A memorial service for Ann will be planned for some time in September.  Our heart goes out to her husband Ray Bland and their children and grandchildren.  She will be missed.
