Today's EBMUD Pipeline Project/Lafayette Circle

Beginning today, Monday, June 1st, the EBMUD crew will be finishing up on the last connections to the new water main at the south end of Hough near Wildwood and Brook Streets.  This concludes the work between Mt. Diablo and Brook.  At some point in the near future, a paving company will come through, grind and resurface the street.  This will be a 2-3 day project.  There will be some road closures and one way traffic.  You will be notified before they begin work.  Also beginning Tuesday will be preparation for installing the new line from Mt. Diablo/ Lafayette Circle (Bank of the West/Mercantile)  down to the corner of Lafayette Circle and Hough, just outside the chamber office.  This week will be the saw cutting.  It is noisy and dusty, and there will be flagmen working to direct traffic.  On Thursday, they will begin digging and installing the new pipeline.  The crew will be taking Friday, June 5th off.

The crew finished up the first phase of the project nearly a month sooner than expected.  This next section should not be quite as complicated and should go faster.  Still outstanding will be the valve/gate that failed in front of Misto Lino two weeks ago.  The work they did was temporary and they will need to come back and put a new valve in.  There will be times during this project where water will need to be turned off from time to time.  You will be notified by EBMUD before they shut any water off.
