Today's EBMUD Pipeline Project/Lafayette Circle Update - NEED UPDATE

The EBMUD crew will return on Monday, May 18, to continue their pipeline construction. The water will be shut off for businesses and residents along Lafayette Circle from Hough to Mt. Diablo from 6am to 4pm. This will run from the Chamber Offices at the corner up to the Bank of the West and the Mercantile. Temporary Shutdown Notices were distributed to door knobs on Thursday afternoon May 14. The crew will be working mainly at the corner of Hough and Lafayette Circle. As for Tuesday through Friday, the workers will be continuing pressure and chlorination tests at the corner of Lafayette Circle and Mt. Diablo (between Starbucks and the Round Up). There will be flagmen directing the traffic changes as location will vary depending on each day and test. EBMUD will also continue dig and plate intermittently along Lafayette Circle throughout the week.

Tomorrow - Tuesday, May 19 - 13th Annual Taste of Lafayette

Tuesday, May 19 is our 13th Annual Taste of Lafayette.Over 25 restaurants participating, an exciting raffle and 7 new stops highlight the event. This event gives the chamber a chance to share our good fortune and the Lafayette Community Foundation raises money through the raffle to support their annual grant program that gives to local non-profits and local projects.  Register online through Monday, May 18. Tickets will be available at the Chamber office on May 19 from 9am-4pm or at the event from 5:30pm-6:00pm.

Tuesday, May 19 - Don't forget to VOTE in the State Senate Special Runoff Election!

Tomorrow, May 19, is Election Day in the Special Runoff Election for our State Senator. The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. New this year - your vote will still count if you mail your absentee ballot so that it is postmarked by Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Of course, you can still drop it off at any polling place in the district. If you lost your ballot, or didn't receive one, you can go to any polling place and ask to vote a provisional ballot. If you have questions, you can contact the Contra Costa County Elections office at 925-335-7871 or visit www.cocovote.us.

No matter the method you use to vote, or whom you vote for, please make sure that you vote! The turnout in Lafayette in the Primary election was 32%, which was higher than the district-wide turnout.
