Today's EBMUD Pipeline Project/Lafayette Circle Update

Today - Monday, May 11 - Update - The EBMUD crew returns on Monday, May 11, to continue their work to do service hook-ups. This work will primarily be on Hough and not on Lafayette Circle. There will still be flagmen working but the activity level should be at a minimum. There will be some work continuing at the corner of Mt. Diablo & Lafayette Circle. Beginning Tuesday, May 12 through Thursday, May 14 the entrance to Lafayette Circle will be closed beginning at 9:00am. Then, Thursday night, May 14, the crew will be working through the night up on Mt. Diablo Blvd. between Bank of the West on the west end to Wells Fargo (Moraga Rd.) on the east end. Water to businesses along Mt. Diablo will be shut off beginning at 10:00pm. That work will be completed around 6:00am. The crew will be taking next Friday off.

Thursday, May 14 is the 21st Anniversary of Bike to Work Day This event promotes bicycling as a green form of transportation that is healthy and fun. Bike to Work Day encourages employees to join the tens of thousands of Bay Area residents commuting to work on their bicycles on May 14th. There well be over 200 energizer stations, located throughout the Bay Area. In Lafayette you will find stations at Plaza Park (Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Moraga Rd.), at Lafayette BART and at the Lafayette-Moraga Trail at the corner of Pleasant Hill Rd. and Olympic. Blvd. Find other stations by going to www.youcanbikethere.com.  It's time for the community to initiate a discussion regarding what's next for Lafayette. The City wants to know what else is on your list. To collect the broadest range of opinions representing all of the community, they have put together several ways to share your thoughts:
1. Fill out the Vistas survey and mail it to the City 2. Go to www.lovelafayette.org and fill out the survey online. Click on the Hot Topics button on the homepage. 3. Send a letter or email that reflects your priorities to cityhall@lovelafayette.org4. Attend a Community Conversation meeting in your neighborhood & make your voice know. The last Community Conversation meeting is at 7pm on Thursday, May 14 at Oakwood Athletic Club. Tuesday, May 19 is our 13th Annual Taste of Lafayette.Over 25 restaurants participating, an exciting raffle and 7 new stops highlight the event. This event gives the chamber a chance to share our good fortune and the Lafayette Community Foundation raises money through the raffle to support their annual grant program that gives to local non-profits and local projects. In this workshop, we'll focus on must-do online steps (including social media) to help you align your online image with your true personal brand, even when people search for you on mobile devices. The openings that we have to fill are as follows: SATURDAY, May 30 - 10-1:30, 1:30-4 & 4-7 OR SUNDAY, May 31 - 10-1, 1-3:30 or 3:30-6.
