Wednesday, February 11 & Thursday, February 12 - Discussions on Homes at Deer Hill Project (AKA Terraces Redux)

After months on the drawing boards, that controversial development proposal for houses on the hillside near Acalanes High School has resurfaced.  A report describing the environmental impacts resulting from the now-called Homes at Deer Hill is out for public review.  The document analyzes impacts of the 44 single family home development, and also the accompanying recreation features including a multipurpose soccer, lacrosse and rugby field, dog park, play structures, a pedestrian and bike path and parking.  The City's Circulation Commission got the first bite earlier last week, and provided good input regarding how traffic will enter and exit the development, and the proposal for a roundabout along Deer Hill Road.  Next up, the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission will consider the park facilities on Wednesday night - February 11 - (7PM at the Lafayette Community Center), and the Design Review Commission will discuss the aesthetics of the project at 7 p.m. on Thursday - February 12 -  at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center.  Many additional public meetings will occur throughout the spring.
