PG&E is now accepting applications for their Bright Minds Scholarship Program. Each year, through the Bright Minds scholarship program, PG&E awards ten renewable scholarships of up to $20,000 per year for up to five years and 90 one-time $2,000 scholarships. Over the past three years, PG&E has awarded nearly $3 million in Bright Minds scholarships to high school and current college students and veterans, many of whom will be the first in their family to attend college.

The program has become increasingly competitive, with thousands of applicants each year. The scholarship is open to all majors but a preference is given to students in STEM majors. In selecting scholarship recipients, PG&E looks for students who:
* Demonstrate academic achievement
* Have a financial need (students are required to apply to FAFSA
* Exhibit personal or community leadership

Lamorinda Village Looking for a Home

As a reminder the Village is a "concierge" program for our seniors to help them remain in their homes instead of having to move to some sort of assisted living. The Village will be offering services to their members such as driving assistance, vendor recommendations, (think our very own Rotary Home Team), and other services that will help seniors navigate staying in their own homes. Check out their website at www.lamorindavillage.org for more info.

The Village needs office space beginning in April, (March if possible), so that they can become established in the community and begin building a membership base. I am asking all local Rotarian's to help us find appropriate space for the village, hopefully on a donated basis or a greatly reduced rent rate. Here is what what they need:

- 500 or more square feet with room for 3 workstations and offices, and maybe access to a private conference room.
- Parking and access for seniors, level in, no stairs preferred.
- Easy to find would be great, but not necessary.
- A one year lease, more if possible. (donated, or greatly reduced rent)

If you have a lead, please contact Skip Bradish at sbrad1979@gmail.com or phone 925-253-2300.
