January 4, 11, 18 & 25 - Weekly Family Bike Ride to Moraga Commons

 

On Sunday, Janury 4, 11, 18 & 25 from 9am-11:30am join other local families for a fun, casual bike ride to Moraga Commons and back. The ride is recommended for 7yrs and up but bring the little ones in a trailer or on your bike. They'll have fun playing at the Commons. We're usually back at Stanley by 11:15. Snacks and water are encouraged. Meet  on the Lafayette-Moraga Trail at Stanley Middle School.
January 5 - Lamorinda Drum Circle

Lamorinda Drum Circle with Kathy Quain on Monday, January 5 from 12:00pm- 1:00pm at Lamorinda Music, 81 Lafayette Circle. Get ready for a joyful and musical time! We'll warm up with a review of drumming essentials, play some favorite rhythms and end with a Drum Circle Jam. Bring your favorite drum but know that we will

January 6 - Lafayette Art Gallery Announces "Voyages" Exhibit

The Lafayette Art Gallery will kick of the new year with a new exhibition, "Voyages," on January 6, as our artists show works depicting their travels, as well as the journeys they undertake to create their art.  In January our Featured Artists will be Dalia Alekna and photographer Warren Emmett Rice. The next in our series of "Second Fridays" receptions is scheduled to showcase the new works on Friday, Jan. 9 5:30-7 PM. Lafayette Art Gallery is located at 3420 Mt. Hospice of the East Bay and ARF hold a Pet Loss Support Group on Tuesday, January 13 from 5:30pm-7:00pm at ARF, 2890 Mitchell Dr., Walnut Creek. In a nurturing small group, you are encouraged to process natural feelings of grief resulting from the loss of a beloved animal. This is a drop-in group. No registration needed; just show up. January 16 - Best of CAIFF - Founders Night

Founders Night on Friday, January 16 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Rheem Theatre is your chance to see the BEST films shown so far in CAIFF Film Festival's 17 year history. January 17 - Fundraiser for CASA of Contra Costa County
 
San Francisco news anchor Dan Ashley and PUSH will be performing a live show of classic-rock with original-roll on Saturday, Janary 17 at 9pm to Messanine, 444 Jessie St., San Francisco. A portion of all proceeds generated by this show goes to support CASA of Contra Costa County and Friends of Camp Concord. Click here for tickets.

January 17 - Jazz Series at the Rheem Theatre

January 24 - Gold Coast Chamber Players presents Serenade

On Saturday, January 24 at 7:30pm at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center, Gold Coast Chamber Players presents Serenade. The program is Maurice Ravel: Chanson Medacasses for soprano, flute, cello and piano; Claude Debussy: Sonata in d minor for cello and piano; Girl With the Flaxen Hair for flute and harp; Maurice Delage: 3 Chants de la Jungle for soprano and piano; Toro Takemitsu: And Then I Knew T'was Wind for flute, viola and harp; Carlos Salzedo: Whirlwind for solo harp Camille Saint Saens :The Swan for cello and harp, and Andre Jolivet: Petite Suite for flute, harp and viola. January 25 - Lamorinda Home Expo '15

The Lamorinda Home Expo '15 will take place on Sunday, January 25 from 10am-4pm at the Veterans Memorial Building, 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd. This event is free to the Public. Over 45 exhibitors - all related to home improvement - will be onsite to discuss your plans, ideas, issues or problems! Stop by between 10am and 4pm. Enter the raffle and take home a valuable resource guide that includes information about each of the sponsors and exhibitors.

January 26 - Adults Who Have Lost a Parent Group

On Monday, January 26 from 6pm-8pm, Hospice of the East Bay is holding an Adults Who Have Lost a Parent Group at their offices located at 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill. January 27 - Lafayette Art Gallery hosts "A Jewelry Extravaganza! Baubles and Bling!"

From January 27th though Valentines Day, the Lafayette Art Gallery will be hosting a special Jewelry exhibit "A Jewelry Extravaganza! Baubles and Bling!" The reception will be Friday, Feb. 6, 5:30 - 7 PM, just in time for you to pick up that special piece of jewelry for that special person for Valentines Day!
