November 1 - Town Hall Theatre - Zoo Station Concert

Zoo Station, the Bay Area's ultimate U2 Tribute band, playing hits from the past 30 years, will have a concert on November 1 at 8pm. Come and experience the intimacy of Town Hall Theatre and come ready to dance the night away! Get your tickets now, this one, like our past 5 shows, WILL sell out. November 1 - Soroptimist Intl. 24-680 Fundraiser

Pull out your poodle skirts, your leather jackets and Brylcreem, and come out and enjoy singing along (and dancing) to the movie Grease on Saturday, November 1 at the Rheem Theatre while helping support Soroptimist International 24-680's programs for women and girls. Ticket price of $20 includes heavy hors' oeuvres. There will be a no host wine bar and fabulous raffle prizes. Reception at 6:45pm, movie starts at 7:45pm. For ticket sales call 323-1797.

November 2 - Lafayette Library 5th Anniversary

The Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation hosts "A Literary Festival" on Sunday, November 2 from 11am to 3pm in celebration of the Library's 5th year Anniversary. The Literary Festival is a FREE community event featuring guest authors, poets, illustrators, publishers along with Glenn Seaborg Learning Consortium Partners.  Activities include guest author readings and book signing, music by local jazz musicians, Dominant 7, food trucks (izzyA's frozen custard and Street Dogs Chicago style hotdogs), kid activities and more. November 4 - Lafayette Art Gallery's New Exhibit "Gifts to Remember" Opens

Beginning Nov. 4, the Lafayette Art Gallery will be featuring unique gifts for the Holiday season. Our artists are creating one-of-a-kind pieces that can make your Holiday gift giving truly individualized, truly special! Also, the Lafayette Art Gallery will feature an all-new selection of paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture and jewelry that offer multiple options for unique gifts, or original artwork to grace your walls. The next in the "Second Fridays" reception series will be Friday, November 14. These are monthly receptions to which the public is cordially invited. Come between 5:30 and 7:30 PM to meet the artists, have a glass of good wine, enjoy stimulating conversation with art aficionados, and feast your eyes on a dazzling array of fine art.

November 6 - Fall Forward A Multi-Media Group Exhibit
 
Jennifer Permultter Gallery presents Fall Forward A Multi-Media Group Exhibit on Thursday, November 6 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at 3620 Mt. Diablo Blvd. This exhibit features 6 East Bay artists.  Of particular note is the variety of medium and how that presents as a whole. As artists we have an infinite tool box. November 9 - Dance For Kindness
 
We want to invite you -- and all kindness fans -- to sign up for a worldwide event taking place on Sunday, November 9, in 80 cities and 30 countries.It's called Dance for Kindness, and the event gives Lafayette and Bay Area families the chance to show the world the power we have when we're united under the banner of KINDNESS!  Sign up here: www.danceforkindness.com. November 13 - Coping with the Holidays class

Hospice of the East Bay is holding a class "Coping With The Holidays" on Thursday, November 13 from 6pm-8pm at 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill. A class that presents ideas and strategies to help those experiencing grief during the holiday season as this time of year can be difficult for those who have experienced a death. November 14 - 15 - Diablo Ballet presents A Swingin' Holiday and More

Diablo Ballet presents A Swingin' Holiday and More on November 14 at 8:00 pm and November 15 at 2:00 pm & 8:00 pm at Del Valle Theatre, 1963 Tice Valley Blvd, Walnut Creek. The 2014 Edition of A Swingin' Holiday by Broadway choreographer Sean Kelly,set to the music of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and jazzy renditions of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, performed live by the Diablo Ballet Swing Orchestra.

The festive performances will also highlight...Tolstoy's Waltz, a Diablo Ballet Premiere by Christopher Stowell and the performances will feature a World Premiere by Resident Choreographer Robert Dekkers. For more details and to purchase tickets visit their website.

November 19 - "Building Your Local Business Network in a Social Media World" Workshop 
 
"Building Your Local Business Network in a Social Media World" Workshop on Wednesday, November 19 at 8am. No question: Building a strong business network is critical to business success. In this workshop we'll look at local opportunities for forging new connections and how social media can build upon those face to face interactions. Are you beginning to make your 2015 business goals and action plans? This is a perfect workshop to jumpstart that effort.

November 21 - 36th Annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast

The 36th Annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast sponsored by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce will be held on Friday, November 21 from 7:00am-8:30am at Our Saviors Luthern Church on 1035 Carol Lane, Lafayette. The breakfast is catered by Dave's Cuisine (Chef Dave Krider). Music provided by Harpist Wendy Tamis. This year's keynote speaker is M.J. Marggraff - Author, Speaker, Suborbital Spaceflight traveler.
